Ok....see if anyone can help. I know its hard to predict. But we are planning a DLR trip next Sept 2013. We were planning on going around middle to late Sept, but I know they close SM to turn it into Ghost Galaxy. (never rode Ghost Galaxy but rather ride it as SM myself.) Seems to be in middle of Sept when they do that. Is there anything else that is closed for refurb every year at that time? Thinking about going ahead and going in early Sept, like the 2nd-6th or so. The 2nd is Labor Day, so it might be busy then, but we plan to go like WED - FRI probably. So hopefully crowds are a little lighter. I am wanting to kind of get there while DL and DCA as they are always before the Halloween decorations come out because I haven't been in a while during a non holiday time and with people going with us that have never been, I would like to let them see DL and DCA as they regularly, still magical!!! :tinker:

Anyways, any tips, suggestions, or anything about ride type closures around that time? Again I know its a shot in the dark. :thanks:

We were there the last week of September this year. After Labor day the park hours will probably be short on the weekdays (10-8) Fantsamic will probably only be shown Fri,Sat and Sun. World of Color is typically still every night, unless they change it. The Haunted Mansion should be open sometime in mid September. It reopened the 14th this year. It has gone down the week before Labor Day and typically opens mid September as Haunted Mansion Holidays (Nightmare Before Christmas Overlay) SM should be open, They only have to close it for a couple of days to do the Ghost Galaxy thing. If you come towards the end of september it will have the ghost galaxy overlay. Those are the only two fairly predictable closures, there will probaly be a few more. This year the first Halloween party was on September 28th, and the kickoff of Halloween was the 14th. Crowds were pretty heavy, but it was probably because of Carsland. Hopefully it will settle down by next year.

Labor Day week and weekend is actually a great time to go to the Disneyland Resort.

Most Annual Passholders are blocked out and kids are either back in school or getting ready to go back to school.

Most attractions do not go into rehab until after Labor Day.

I agree with Brisal73. It seems counterintuative, but this particular holiday weekend is usually a great time to go to Disneyland.
