Hello and Happy Monday!

Well, it is finally going to happen after planning this trip for about 3 years. :cool1: We are leaving on Sept. 1-6th. A few questions if you could answer please.

1. Shuttle you all recommend for transportation to and from LAX to Candy Cane.

2. We get in at 8:30 on Monday morning, since it is Labor day, would you recommend to stay away from the park that day? We are planning to see some other sights besides DL/CA since it is our first trip out there. We are buying park hoppers though. We have friends who live out there so maybe just go see Hollywood/Ocean/Rodeo Dr. and other things that day because the park will be overly crowded? OR............do you think we could still get in later that day/evening since they are open till midnight and just try our luck?

3. Warner Bros. Tours....what are your thoughts? Is is worth it?

That's all for now folks! Thank you! :wave2:

Hi

We are going the same time as you and Labor Day will be our first Disney day so we are definitely going in the park that day - we are leaving for Hollywood late on the Thursday afterwards so Labor Day is the only day we will get to see fireworks and Fantasmic. We have only ever been to WDW on Labor Day before and that was really busy but only because fireworks was cancelled due to bad weather the rest of the weekend - hopefully that won't happen in DLR. My logic is most of the Half Marathon crowds will have gone home and it will be work next day for many people so hoping that wont be as busy on the Monday.

We are using DK Livery (now called Lansky's) for a private transfer - much preferred it last year than a shared shuttle we had used before, although not the cheapest option. The guy even loaded our cases from the carousel at the airport.

We went to Warner Bros last year and are going back using the Go LA card - we thought it was good although we didn't know a lot of the shows they spoke about. We are visiting the Studios a second time this year in addition to another tour as we have tickets to be in the Studio audience for Two and a Half Men.

Also stayed at Candy Cane for past two visits and loved it - we have gone for a cheaper option this year - Desert Palms - hope it will be OK - it's just round the corner from CCI.

I can't speak for Labor Day, but, I know that MLK Monday after a race weekend was busy. I think it is because the races start early (5:00am early) and people leave the parks early for their race the next day. So Monday really is a full day at the Parks where families can enjoy and celebrate. At least that was our experience this last January. I know my cousins who are participating in the DL 1/2 Marathon weekend are staying Monday and flying out on Tuesday. What they are doing is in line with what I experienced.

However, if that is your only night to view Fantasmic and the Fireworks, I would brave the crowds and go for it.

I bet Labor Day will be very busy. I also recommend DK Livery. I didn't know the name had changed. You will get to the hotel or other places very quickly and without worries.

If you're going to do LA/Hollywood that day, I'd suggest a one way car rental from LAX. The airport is about 15 miles from Hollywood Blvd, why would travel 35 miles south to Anaheim, then turn around and travel 40 miles in the opposite direction to get back to LA? Especially after flying all morning.

Monday could be a good day to do the WB tour. There won't be a lot of production going on, but that means many sets won't be in use so the guides will have more options.

Yea, count on the parks being VERY busy that Monday! It would definitely be a good day to skip if it works for you to do so!

Would you say that Monday will be busier than the Sunday as we are skipping the Sunday in favour of Monday?

Can you tell we booked our trip without considering that it is Labor Day weekend in the US.
