My Husband and I are traveling in May for our 10 Year wedding anniversary. We in our early 30's.

We can't pick between the Caribbean resort and the Port Orleans- French Quarter.

We have stayed at the Poly and Floridian in the past, How do these compare?
Kinda planned on a whim so moderate is in our budget this time round.

Does anyone have any advise one way or the other on these resorts?

Thanks in advance!

For me, POFQ is one of the most romantic resorts on property. Love the boat to Downtown Disney, small size, theming, etc etc. It's my absolute fave Mod and I've stayed at POFQ, POR, and CB. I've also stayed at WL and AKL and will be staying at POP in May and for my money I think POFQ is an absolute steal.

My vote goes to the POFQ, also-having stayed in all of the moderates, it is by far the best. I love that it is smaller and also enjoy being able to take the boat to DTD.

my vote is for POFQ we stayed there for the first half of our honeymoon in Feb..

very nice resort it was quite and peaceful

Definitely Port Orleans. You don't have to go through 7(?) bus stops and it's much less crowded. And you can even take the boat to Downtown for a nice change of pace.

I haven't stayed at POFQ yet, but I'd recommend it over CBR for adults on their own just based on size and theming alone, not to mention the DTD boat. CBR was great for me and my teen daughters but when I go with my best friend and her mom we're going to stay at POFQ.

I'll side with the other posts on this list. POFQ. I'm one of those who likes to try other resorts but POFQ is my favorite (my DS and DD also consider it their favorite). Small size means you're not far from any bus stops or the counter service (no table service, though. That's at Riverside, just a short walk from FQ.)
I'm heading down there for a solo trip end of April.

We were going to book the POFQ for our !!!25th!!! anniversary and were disappointed that there were no more rooms available that include the free dining plan. We have stayed there 3 times before and like it a lot. So we decided to stay somewhere we have never stayed before. That may just make it more special anyway. Got a Royal Guest Room at PO-Riverside. Remember, the free dining plan program is limited!

I stayed at POFQ for my honeymoon 5 years ago and I LOVED it. It's not a huge resort and does have a romantic feel to it.

I highly recommend booking a river view room. It's a little more expensive but it's very quiet and serene in that part of the resort. My room also had a king bed in it, so you should ask about that as well!

I really have nothing bad to say about POFQ and if I wanted to go to Disney on a budget, this resort would definitely be my choice!

POFQ I think you would enjoy it. Plus you can go to DTD for a nice dinner and take the boat back to the resort.
You can also take a horse drawn carriage ride around the resort.

Looks like it's unanimous (so far). IMO French Quarter is the easy choice. It's by far my favorite Moderate. I even like it better than some of the Deluxes. Also based on your avatar it looks like you are a Disneyland girl. The French Quarter always reminds me of New Orleans Square. The resort is beautiful, and one of its best features is, it only has one bus stop! :thumbsup2

Oooh. Well those are two of the best hotels on property, ha ha. When I said I liked the POFQ better than some Deluxes, I wasn't talking about those! :p Except the FQ does have more personality than the GF.

That said, don't even worry about it. FQ is still the best Moderate, and again it's very quaint thanks to its size. You can't go wrong staying there.

We've stayed at both CB & POFQ. We prefer POFQ (3xs), quiet pretty, boat ride to DTD. However....our fav mod now is CSR, I realize you're not asking for that one but maybe in the future it's a nice option it really has a great pool/slide. Have a great trip.
