Do you think it would make any difference if we check in late on Thanksgiving day or mid-day on Friday?

We are staying at WL with another family and are requesting rooms close together and one with bunks (teenage son and daughter), both requests important to us. Also requesting room on fifth floor (not so important). Last year we checked in at BC late thanksgiving day and got the absolute worst room we have ever had anywhere! Do you think it would make much of a difference if we checked in on Friday? Are there many people who will check out on Friday during a holiday week, or are they there until the weekend?

Hate to lose a half a day on Friday, but we really want a chance at our requests.

If you get a lousy room you could always call down & tell them you want to switch the next morning. I would at least get checked in & put your request in first for a better room if you would want a different one.

I'm curious. We were thinking of BC for our next visit...that's if we can afford it! Anyway, what section or room did you think was bad? We were going to request a full balcony on the non-smoking floor. Where did you stay that you didn't like in BC. THANKS.

We were on the fifth floor waterview. Our room was over the lobby entrance to the lake side of the resort. The courtyard in that area is filled with mature trees. We could not see one drop of the water view that we paid for. Also the room had double beds, not queen, yet it was ridiculously crowded. We had to move the table and chairs every time we wanted to go out on the balcony and then move them again when we came in so we could get through and sit on the day bed. Because we checked in late Thanksgiving day, they told us there were no other rooms. Our room did not look as spacious as the ones in the pictures we had seen. AKL was roomier and people say it has some of the smaller room. I'm glad we only stayed there two nights before moving on to the Poly because it really would have ruined our trip since we decided to splurge and do more resort time than we ever had before. We were extremely comfortable at the Poly with our three teens. Those are great rooms!

We're staying 11 days this November and since we are staying at deluxes these days and are doing more down time the room is a little more important than in previous years.

Anyone else?

Thanks for the information. We stayed at the Polynesian in March and loved it. I know when I looked at a Beach Club website it mentioned that some rooms were smaller. I'm glad you mentioned your view...we'll look out for it! If we ever stay there, I'll try to remember what you said. I wouldn't like a blocked view!
