We are arriving on 8/25. This is the only night Fantasmic is showing. I got an ADR at Brown Derby Fantasmic package. Looking at the menu, I really don't think my son will like it. We also wanted to try Beaches & Cream but can't fit it in any where but our arrival day. So my question is this... Would you drop the ADR and the Fantasmic package and go to B & C then wait in line for Fantasmic or would you skip B & C to avoid the Fantasmic line?

B & C, then take the boat to HS and be prepared to wait in a longer line.

Unless it's a super crowded time of year, and your week isn't, no reason to book a Fantasmic package if you don't mind waiting longer. Besides, if it rains and Fantasmic is cancelled you are still held to the dining reservation.

good point about the rain. I didn't think of that. I also keep wondering if BD is worth 2 table service credits?

I personally think BD IS worth the 2 TS. We eat there on almost every trip and love it. :) The food and service are both wonderful. I think you will all love it! :thumbsup2

If you're still unsure, try Mama Melrose...only one credit and delish, probably more kid friendly too. Plus you still get the F! Pkg. :goodvibes

We were trying for Mama Melrose but they were fully booked. I guess I will keep checking. Have you eaten at Beaches & Cream?

I have a problem with giving up 2 TS credits for 1meal. When we do these meals we pay OOP instead. IMHO I think you should go to B&C and just wait in the line for fantasmic

I got a Brown Derby F! Package ressie and gave it up after reviewing the menu. Nothing on the menu excited me, DH or DD11. We are eating dinner at the Yacht Club and then boating over to wait in the line.

I would skip the F! package if I preferred a different restaurant and do that one instead

Lots of people agree with you, but we are not in that realm. We judge Where we want to go, not the TS credits used. We are not trying to maximize the dollar value we are trying to enjoy the vacation we have saved to have. I would keep the Brown Derby. It is a good restaurant. The lines just for Fantasmic! without the package can be 90 - 120 minutes in busy times of the year. Your time, and ticket cost, have a value as well.
If you are thinking about TS credit "worth" Beaches and Cream isn't worth a TS credit in my mind. If you aren't concerned about the "worth" of the credit, the food there was only okay for us.
What ever you decide, have a great time.

Brown Derby is a nice restaurant, but it sounds like it may not be the best choice for your group this time. What time is Fantasmic! on the day you're considering? If it's early enough, maybe you can have dinner at Beaches & Cream after the show! I always like leaving Epcot or Hollywood Studios and heading straight to the soda shop for a late dinner or sundae.

If that doesn't work with your schedule, I think the idea of leaving the park for dinner, then waiting in line for Fantasmic! sounds like the best solution.

I agree with you 100%. I cannot imagine waiting in line for 90-120 min!! This is why we havent seen fantasmic to this day! (but i will make a point of making a ressie for this coming Aug trip!). I think its worth doing the fantasmic pkg just to be able to walk right in without having to wait in line forever. :lmao:

Oh darn. :headache: That's too bad. I have eaten at B&C though and I did like it very much. :goodvibes You might also try Captain's Grille at the Yacht Club. Both are great! :thumbsup2

By the time August arrives I bet another Fantasmic will have been added during the week you're going. Good luck!

I have the Fantasmic dinner package with Brown Derby in September. The only time I could get was 3:30 and I was actually thinking of going to Beaches and Cream after Fantasmic for ice cream. I'm worried about the crowds after Fantasmic at Beaches and Cream though? Anyway I always felt the same about BD and have yet to try it for that reason so I am determined to go this time! :)
