So my fiance just proposed this weekend but I have been secretly planning with DFTW for the past few weeks because I knew it was coming...

I reaaaaaaally want 11/11/11 as I feel it will be a lucky day... When discussing it with my parents, they say "there's not enough time" or "that's stupid tp do just cause of the date." I'm really upset because I had my heart set on this, have already contacted numerous vendors... My mother thinks an 8 am ceremony isn't the best choice either - can I hear from some people who had an early morning ceremony???

What should I do? Any advice for talking to the parents who control the checkbook???

As for the "not enough time" argument, I got engaged on Dec 19th and my wedding will be June 11, a little less than 6 months. With Disney, you can do it!

That's TONS of time to plan! We planned our wedding in 5 months and never felt rushed. Tell your parents that Disney does all the heavy lifting for you so there's really not that much that you guys need to do. Also, the sooner you get married, the sooner they will have one less mouth to feed. :teeth:

Our wedding was at 9 am, and I thought it worked out really well. It allowed us to serve brunch instead of a pricey dinner, and our guests had the rest of the day to themselves til our 8:30 pm dessert party in Epcot. I also liked the more casual feel of the morning ceremony, which, again, lowered costs on all the formal stuff you usually get with an evening wedding (like a $$$ bar!).

Here has been my plan:

8 am Ceremony at WP
"Cocktail Hour" for the guest with all breakfasty items
Break for pictures, NAPS!!!, maybe park hop?
5 pm Reception at Nutcracker Ballroom at the Contemporary
8:30 pm Dessert Party...

I just don't know how to convince my parents how easy this will be... I need to bring her to Disney for a meeting I think!!!

And not for nothing but she was married 6 months after she was engaged!!!

I don't want to put a damper on your plans, but just be aware that 11-11-11 will be a popular date and you may have to go into a lottery in order to try to get it. Disney may even charge higher minimums on such a popular date, but I am not sure.
Good luck and congratulations!!
