I was wondering from those of you that live in washington and fly out of Seatac know where I kind find some cheap arifare? I tried priceline, expedia, cheap tickets and alaska airlines and could not get airfare round trip for me and my husband for less than $330.00 for each person:scared1: I don't know about you but, that's a pretty penny to be paying. I just wanted to get everyone's advice. Thank you for taking the time to respond. :)

You'll need to wait until it gets closer to your departure date (your leaving in Oct, right?).

Flights should be under $200 by then. For example, most flights from SEA to LAX are under $190 round trip in May.

Yeah.. I would wait until it gets closer, thats when the rates go down.

I think everyone needs to think about the increase in jet fuel prices and some of the new luggage and landing fee's, you just might see the prices go up.

Best of luck,

Jack

Jet blue has flights for $99.00 pp each way into Long Beach. If this is the correct SEA airport of course. Jet Blue is the best IMHO.

Definitely check out Jet Blue.

And unless they change things again, Southwest should be releasing fares tomorrow (that's what they said in the Transportation forum), so maybe they will have something for you.

We are paying $300 roundtrip out of PDX for Dec. and that is the most we have paid by about $100.

I also thought the flights would be increasing because of fuel costs, but they only went down the closer it got to my departure date. I bought round trip tickets from PDX to LAX for $179 six weeks before my departure date in May. They were running closer to $250 RT in the months before.

Just make sure to keep an eye on the prices and buy when you think it's a good deal. If you wait too long, the price will go back up (my flight is now up to $280 RT).

We are also planning an October trip :) I will be watching flights as soon as we get back in May, but I won't buy them until they are under $200 round trip. We have 6 people to buy tickets for, so it adds up!

I just booked Alaska on Monday, to fly into Long Beach, and paid 99 each way-- $217 with tax, round trip. That's Oct. 12-16th.

That's funny, I just plugged your dates into Alaska Air and still got the $217 RT fare. Did you make your destination airport Long Beach? It's often cheaper.

I paid 333.00 :scared1: thru Alaska out of Sea for Sept 8-12. I needed 5 tickets so I did not wait. today the price is 371.00. And the seats for filling up so remember to keep an eye on the seat map for availability.

Maybe I did it wrong?:confused3 Let me go and try it again right now. Thanks :)

RRMommy, I just plugged your dates in from SEA to Long Beach and also got the $217 "hot deals" rate. What are you looking at? Are you going through the Alaska Airlines site? I don't see those high fares.

Okay I found out what I did. I punched in arriving in Santa Ana which is John Wayne Airport. It came out to $370.00 round trip per person. Ouch!!
Is it cheaper to fly into LAX or Long Beach? If so, Why is that?? Is it because it's further away?

SNA is more expensive, don't know why. It's like, 12 miles from Disneyland. Long Beach is around 15 miles from Disneyland, not much farther at all, and often it's just as cheap as LAX. My DH flies into both for business occasionally, he says Long Beach is just a tad smaller than SNA, but they're both nice because they're small and the security is a lot less chaotic and time consuming.

Long Beach is about the same distance from Disneyland as John Wayne, give or take about 3-4 minutes. This would be my choice for sure!:thumbsup2

LAX is quite a bit further and can be anywhere from 35 minutes drive time to over and 60 minutes drive time, depending on the time of day, day of the week, road construction, car accidents, etc. We've flown into LAX too, but I really don't like to. I'm just not a fan of LAX at all. To me it's just an old and gross airport. When we do fly into LAX, we try to make sure we're flying in and out on a weekend......much less traffic and hassle.

I want to say a HUGE, THANK YOU TO EVERYONE that responded!!! I think I will try for Long Beach!
