The last few years I was able to take advantage of the promotion, "stay 7 nights for the price of 5" That was a great deal...Does anyone know if WDW willl be running this again this year? If I remember correctly, I started to see them advertise this in the spring.

Also, does anyone remember if this offer was good for any resort, like including deluxe ???

My family is driving me crazy, being very impatient. They want to plan a trip in the fall and I keep telling them to wait a few months before bookng just to see what specials they may have.

What do you guys think will be better to do...For 6 to 8 adults (2 small children) Should we book a 2 bedroom villa that sleeps 8 or 3 rooms at a moderate? Will it be a big difference in price?

I was at a Disney Travel Agent class and the FT package question came up. They are holding off on any packages until they see how the new MYW does. If you are going for a week, it is in theory cheaper than it has been in the past with the new pricing structure.

As to the Villa vs Moderate a few thoughts:

3 moderaes gives you an extra bathroom
3 moderates gives more privacy to the adults and possibly better sleeping config.

Villa could save money on food with full kitchen
Villa saves on packing since you have a W/D in room
Villa is more condusive to "group time" in your room if you aren't at parks all the time.

Yes, the 5 plus 2 deal was good at the deluxe resorts. We used it to stay at GF. But you may have to wait a while for fall codes to come out. You're right in your thinking that last year the offer was made in the spring. Like another poster said, you will probably have to wait until the MYW stuff gets straightned out. And maybe they may use the deal to lure visitors for the 50th celebration, but that doesn't start 'til May. I'm hoping for another 5 plus 2 code as well. Let's keep our fingers crossed!!!

We never saw the FTP before 9/11 and if wdw has a good show from the spring and there "new" campaign they probably won't need it. You might consider buying an ap for the discount if you go every year. Example: If you go in august this year and activate and use your pass (and get discount on resort) than plan to go next year in july or june you already have the pass and can still you use, and the discount. Just something to think about if that helps. We always work it out to get 2 trips out of our pass and the resort discount is well worth the $. Unless you are only going for a minimal of days. But for a week twice it is worth it (I think the break even was 10 days on tix price). And you only need 1, for the room discount. But remember the room discounts are NOT guarranteed and now seem harder to get. for some reason. :earseek:

Im going to ride this one out for while and see what they decide to do..If no additional specials come about I will call to get a quote to get an idea of what its going to cost for a week.

Because there are about 8 of us going, the AP option will not benefit everyone. Im probably the only one who would visit twice a year and that doesnt always happen.

One decsion was made which was to get a few rooms at a value or moderate resort instead of 1 deluxe villa. I like the foodcourt options better anyway, especially with the kids.

Thanks again for the great information. Please let me know if you have any other ideas...

you guys are always the best advice on the web or anywhere, when it comes to Disney!!! :flower:

Hey there! Okay I am guessing that there may be codes for this reason: The hurricanes last year. It's going to be VERY hard to entice people to vacation during August and September this year in Florida, and the codes for last year (the 5 for 7 deal) came out in mid-May and were good (I believe) for mid-July through mid-September. So if they come out again I am guessing that they will be out around the same time of year again. Anyways good luck on getting the codes!
