I will be travelling to the world with 300 of my closest friends (bwahahahah, chaperoning the HS marching band during spring break!) but really, I will be there "alone". Do you think I will be able to just walk in to, say, Le Cellier or that English Pub (name escapes me at the moment), and ask for a table for 1? TIA!

I don't think you will have luck with this. If you have the app on your phone you could search while your down there if you aren't certain when the free time to grab a bite will be. I have heard others report in the past that they were declined walking up but the app showed availability. They used the app, booked a table and voila. Sounded like a glitch but not sure if it still happens. If you were wanting fish and chips at Rose and Crown and don't have luck getting in, the quick service fish shop has the same thing. It's yummy!!! Availability will likely just depend on the restaurant.

I've never been to R&C, but isn't there a bar/pub side with at least some food options and open seating (no ADRs) - someone can clarify, and still no guarantee you'll find a spot there. I will second the remark that QS Fish & Chips are good!

Of all the places at WDW, I'd bet Le Cellier is one of the hardest to get a walk-up to. I know they were turning away walk-ups when I ate there in 2014.

This may not be what you want, and I've never tried it, but I was told a couple of years ago that you might have luck as a solo walk-up at Teppan Edo or Biergarten because of the communal seating and the desire to fill up tables.

I would do what the PP suggested, when you're ready to eat, get on the MDE app on your phone and see who has a convenient ADR available.

I've had mixed results, notably at the R&C. As I approached the desk one evening, I overheard the CM tell a party of 4 that there was no room available or any reservation times either. I told the CM I'd heard what she'd said the bunch in front of me but that I was just a party of one. Next thing I know I'm seated at a table for one, and only one! There was absolutely no room for a second chair. When I told my server that I not only knew where he was from, but had actually lived there, all the other servers came over to chat with me throughout my meal. I had a great time. On the other hand, most of my other "seating for one" attempts that trip failed (though I did have some ADRs that I used).

You should definitely plan ADRs. Even though you are a solo, you still need a table. And, with the exception of the table at R&C that the previous poster mentioned, there are not usually tables for one. You may find luck at some of the restaurants with bar seating such as:
California Grill
Citricos
Flying Fish
Narcoossees
Jiko
Shulas
Blue Zoo
Il Mulino
Fultons

I've planned ADRs as a solo for everywhere I wanted to eat, barring CS.

Thanks so much everyone! I appreciate the input. Have FUN on your trips!! ;-)

Since you have a plan of where and when you want to dine I would say make a reservation ahead of time. Personally I don't know where I am going to dine so I just go in and asks for a table for 1 and so far I have been lucky to get a table. Good luck.

I agree with the rest. You're best off making an ADR if you know where you'll be...even if you try to make it the "day of". That you'll be by yourself doesn't help your situation at all. A table is a table. Also agree with the earlier poster that you might be able to get a bar spot at Rose and Crown as a walkup. My guess is Le Cellier probably isn't happening.

During spring break getting a table as a walk up will be extremely difficult. Disney doesn't have tables for 1; you would be seated at a table for 2. You could wait and check on the day of or the day before to see what is available, but there's no guarantee it will be a good time or convenient location for you.

The lounges and bars don't take reservations and many have very good small plates menus or at some of them you can order from the adjacent restaurant menu so this would be something to consider.

Of the 2 you mentioned, I doubt Le Cellier will be able to accommodate you during spring break. Rose and Crown has a small pub, but it's menu only has 3 or 4 items on it and you cannot order from the menu of the adjacent Rose and Crown Dining Room. You can order the fish and chips from the Yorkshire County Fish Shop right outside.

Yay!! I have ressies for Le Cellier for dinner and Mama Melrose for Linner ;-)

The fact that there are soooo many yummy things to snack on at Epcot makes me think I don't need a table meal that day.....but that is a whole other discussion!! Lol.
