I am looking for an all-in-one printer and just when I've made up my mind, I read terrible reviews about it! I'd love to know what works for you.

I want to print, copy and scan. Do not need fax (but it's ok too)
Price range $50-100
Reasonably priced ink
Ink cartridges together (1 black, 1 color - not separate one for each color)
Do not need to print photos
Just for home use, but not necessarily home-office quality
Preferably wireless

We currently have a Canon MP370 (it was a gift) but it's been having problems and we can't seem to fix it.

Thank you!

I bought a HP Deskjet 1050 for $20 at Walmart on Black Friday. I think regular price is in the $30-$40 range. It uses 1 black and 1 tri color cartridge. Right now, you can get a twin pack of black ink at Walmart.com for $23 and a twin pack of tri color ink for $32. The 1050 prints, scans and copies. Works good enough for me. It is not wireless.

FYI, I just found this out myself, but you don't need a wireless printer to print wirelessly. If you have your own wireless(wifi) network set up, you can setup most any printer to the network to print wirelessly. I did it with the HP 1050 I just bought. Works great when I'm on my laptop in the living room and send stuff to the printer down the hall in the bedroom.

OT - I have the same printer! It was on Wal-mart.com for $20 just before Christmas. I just opened it yesterday and it seems pretty nice, especially for the price!:thumbsup2

For the wireless, do you have it connected to another printer that it's printing through or is it standing solo? I have my other HP (I love the HP brand!) hooked to another printer and can print from my laptop through that.

OP - I used to always buy Lexmark printers but I had two in a row go wonky on me. :( Since then I've stayed with HP and I haven't had any trouble with them at all. The only reason I bought the above mentioned second HP was because of the price. My first HP still works just fine. I just couldn't pass up the great deal on the 1050. :)

I have an Epson NX215. Prints/copies/scans and has pretty good quality. I think I paid about $70 for it.

I love the ink price though. It uses 4 cartridges: black, cyan, yellow and blue. You replace the one that runs out so far less waste with the color cartridge where you may run out of only one color but the whole cartridge is then useless.

I just paid $39 for a box that contained ALL FOUR cartridges - black and each color.

I can get each color cartridge for about $12-14 and a black one for $17 if purchased individually.

Far less than the money I forked over on my old Lexmark, which wanted $42 for color cartridge and $32 for black.

No. I have the printer connected to a computer that is on my wireless network. These are the instructions I found online...

Share Your Printer in Windows
1 Install the printer. Set up the printer as normal on a machine that is already connected to the wireless network. Connect all necessary cables and install all necessary drivers.
2 Open the printers and faxes folder. Click "Start," then "Control Panel," then "Printers and Other Hardware" and then "Printers and Faxes."
3 Share your printer. Find the icon for the printer you just installed. Click the icon once and then select SHARE THIS PRINTER in the tasks pane on the left. Now, right click the icon, select properties and go to the SHARING tab. Click "Share Name," and then click "Okay."
4 Connect to the printer. On the other computers within the network, open the control panel and click "Printers and Other Hardware." Select "Add a Printer."
5 Select "Printer Connection." When prompted, select this option instead of the local printer. Find and select the printer you just installed and select it.
6 Print as normal. Next time you print a page, send it to your networked printer.
