I spent this afternoon shopping for a new digital camera. I saw a couple that I liked, but it looks like my favorite is a Panasonic Lumix.

Does anyone own this camera? If so, can you provide feedback, positive or negative? I'm looking for a camera with a decent zoom (so that I can take pictures while in WDW), and I want something in between basic and high-tech. I'm looking to spend between $150-$200 for the camera. Suggestions?

Sorry I can't help you with the Panasonic, but I have a Canon S3 that I purchased about a month ago. Very easy to use like a point and shoot, but also have used it manually with no problems. It is a little over what you want to spend, but not that much. I paid $248 for mine. It has great zoom, 12x optical. I am extremely pleased with it.

Here is a link to some of the pics I have taken with it... http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1251752

I'm sorry  , I meant $348. I bought it at Circuit City, they price matched Walmart.com for me. Sorry for the mistake  .

ETA... Dell.com did have it on for $319 with free shipping when I bought mine.

I'm sort of a point-and-shoot digital camera fanatic. I can't stay away from the deals. In the last 5 years, I've had Olympus, Nikon, Canon, HP, Kodak, and Sony. I love the Sony cameras. I have a Sony DSC-T33 and a Sony DSC-L1 and I love them both. This is probably the longest I've gone without getting a new digital camera (about 1 year since I got the last Sony)

Edited to add: I usually check techbargains.com or fatwallet.com to wait for and find deals

I have had 2 Sony Cyber shots my present one is the DSC-T5. I can 't remember how much I paid for it but I don't think it was very expensive. The reason I love this camera so much is it is thin is about 3in by 5in and has a large screen to see the pictures, it slides into my fanny pack  with no problem, I am a person who does not like to DRAG a camera around and this is so small I can even slide it in a pocket, it takes great photos although it only has a 3x optical lens there are times I wish I had more but that means more bulk. I bought mine at Best Buy.

Bump! Any thoughts on the Lumix?

I'm also looking .

I have a Sony N1 that I got a great deal on last year . It stinks great features but can't take an action shot to save my life.

I'm also looking at the Lumix for it's image stabilazation as DW has shaky hands .

I found this one today that seems to be a SE one jump up from the one your looking at.

They are also adding free shipping right now as well if your looking for an on-line purchase.
