Can DVC Points Deposited with RCI be Rented Out?

DVC points were deposited with RCI and due to extended family illness, it looks like we will be unable to use them before they expire at the end of the year.

Anyone with knowledge on if and how I would be able to sell/rent these points?

Does RCI allow this as long as I make the original reservation in the name of the renter?

What value would you assign to this type of rental?
(1-week 1BR and 1-week Studio = Can be combined for 1 week 2BR )

Does TUG or one of the other sites have a place for these type rentals?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

RCI has explicite rules against renting out an RCI exchange. Sorry.

2) snippet from the T&OC related to rentals, "A Confirmation may not be used for any commercial purpose, including the rental or sale of the accommodation which is represented by such Confirmation. A Confirmation may only be used by the person whose name(s) appears on the Confirmation."

You've gotten the official answer. RCI will semi officially allow someone to rent out an exchange but only to the extent of the exchange fee and guest certificate fee. Not much given the value of DVC points.

According to RCI rules then it appears that I can make the reservation and secure the "confirmation" for whomever I choose to name on it, but I can not "Rent" or "Sell" it.

Other than for the exchange fee and guest cert fee, that is my understanding.
