Need quiet WDW hotel room

If you want to stay at BCV, I highly recommend the rooms in the "jog" that face the woods. When you get off the elevator, go right down the long hall. Look to the right by an ice machine to turn right. You want the rooms on the right. My DH is VERY sensitive to noise, yet he commented on how super-quiet those rooms are. We always request "woods-view" and almost always get rooms in that area.

Agreed.

The biggest issue OP is that there is NO way to guarantee that your room will be quiet to the point that you need it. We can all suggest resorts and rooms until we are blue in the face, but there are variables you just can not account for such as your next door neighbors or emergency maintenance needs. There are outdoor movies at some resorts as well that you need to be aware of. The pool parties during the day are VERY loud as well. I stay at POFQ and you can hear the music and noise from them through a good part of the resort.

One tip though would be to request to be on the top floor, thus reducing any noise that may come from above. I have also found that resorts with interior corridors (so your deluxes) often end up being louder due to the noise being contained by the hallway.

DITTO! I find that universally you want a TOP FLOOR room NOT facing a pool.

_I_ would recommend Country Fair section at Music, ask for landscape view; CBR or POR or CSR NOT a preferred room, NOT water view. SSR is a VERY quiet resort.

I am not a light sleeper and I've had terrible times with noise at Kidani and AoA--if tat is of any help.

Please help! 7-yr-old son with ASD is very sensitive to noise, especially when sleeping. We travel with a white noise machine, but it can only block out so much. We will all be miserable if noises wake him up. I'm hoping we could nap in the afternoon and he is not an early riser, so daytime noises are an issue also.

I was looking at Poly, but then read the groundskeepers can be loud early in the morning. Plus I'm unsure what the construction will be like in the last week of October and whether the noise would affect us. So then I decided on Beach or Yacht Club but heard that they will be under construction this year too.

I also liked the idea of him playing in the sand at Stormalong Bay there to calm down, but then I heard the pool is really loud with games and music. He'll be wearing his earmuffs at the parks, but I want him to have a break and be able to relax. Are all the fun themed pools loud?

I've also read reviews from several different resorts mentioning extremely loud toilets. Do all Disney resorts have these?

I'm starting to wonder if we need to stay off property, but we love the idea of transportation being taken care of. I would sincerely appreciate any advice and information. Thanks!
I know you got a lot of input already, but I thought I would add that we found Coronado Springs rooms to be the most quiet. Yacht was loud with the shared internal hallway, same with AKL. The Pop was SO loud, I couldn't believe it. I could hear the elevator ding from my room. (WIDE AWAKE). We have tried a few others, but the CSR is our favorite for quiet.

Tons of great advice from PP's - just popped in to add: remember that any of the treehouses near the river (or the river-side rooms at POR or POFQ) will have the horns from the boats on the river, which go all day and well into the evening. We stayed at POFQ (building 4) just last month, and it was very quiet. Housekeeping and grounds-keeping didn't really get going until 8am or later; we were usually on the way to the parks by then. Food court at POFQ is like most others - at high traffic times it can be noisy, but there are tables and benches just outside where you could possibly find it to be quieter. The playground at POFQ is also a bit away from the pool area, and the laundry building blocks it from a lot of that noise.

What about Old Key West? The atmosphere is very laid back. There are pool games in the afternoon but I think there's a sand play area just off the main pool.

We personally found the All-Stars Resorts to be VERY noisy when we stayed in them alone (no kids) and POFQ to be very relaxed and quiet (again, no kids with us though). This was years ago. But we were directly across from the kid's pool and it was quiet for us in our room. I thought POFQ had a lot of nice quiet areas to sit and get away too (woodsy). I don't know if that is helpful for your child or if he/she needs indoor quiet areas (besides for sleep) to calm and relax. The pool there was really cute and I didn't think it was particularly crowded the year we were there but we were there in March. I have two kids with sensory issues. They prefer to calm down in the woods in a secluded treed area that is shady, like walking paths, etc. if I was making the decision based on them when they were younger and still as sensitive to noise, I would pick Fort Wilderness, hands down. I am not basing this off a personal stay there though (disclaimer). I am basing it off the fact that it is the only place on property with no adjoining walls and years of staying places with no adjoining walls. We ALWAYS stay at KOA cabins when traveling so as to avoid adjoining walls. We find this cuts down on a lot of the issues hotels might cause for kids with developmental issues (i.e. noise from other people, us causing noise for other people, sleep issues, odd hours we keep, etc.) Maybe you could go on the Fort Wilderness board and ask opinions about that resort from people with kids and see. Other than that, I do agree with the person above that said that it is difficult to control and plan what other people do. You never know if the people staying next door might be really loud. Another reason why NO ADJOINING WALLS would be a good option. I don't know if I was at all helpful. Just adding my opinion to the mix.

I have to say, last trip to BWI (just a couple weeks ago) was so NOISY I will never stay there again.

Our quietest trip was staying at Marriott's Sabal Palms, which is so close to Disney that a cab ride (if you don't want to drive) can't be much! It's like a little apartment - I LOVED it there!
