Thinking of buying 150 points at VB. Looking at a Dec UY, but our SSR points are an Aug UY. I fully understand not being able to "pool" the points at the 7 month mark (would have to tranfer and am limited to one transfer per year), but other than having an additional banking date to watch, is there any reason that I would not want a different UY?

If making reservations, can I book a few nights with one contract and the other nights with the other and still link the reservations so I don't have to check out/check back in?

In advance, thanks for the information!!!

You've hit the reasons - extra effort to manage and the inability to combine points at 7 months without doing a transfer between the contracts.

Yes, as long as the reservations are for the exact same type of unit. For example, if you are booking a 2 bedroom, you can't book a dedicated from the SSR contract and a lock off from the VB contract if you want to link the reservations.

Thanks, Carol! I know that life throws us curve balls, but I really think that we will be using the VB points at VB. My family loves a beach trip and we think we'd love VB. I've read many posts but am kind of nervous. We've never been, so we would actually be buying sight unseen. Worst case scenario is that we use the points at Dis, but still, a little bit of a gamble.

I was trying to put two smaller point contracts together with an August UY, but one of the seller's wasn't willing to negotiate. I told the person I was working with that I understood...smaller point contracts really don't have to as much. So, when I started looking at larger point contracts, there are no August UYs. I'm debating on whether to wait (solely so I can pool), but in all honesty, a Dec or Feb UY works better for us. DH is a teacher and having an Aug UY has been a little of a pain.

Uhhhhhgggg! Decisions...:headache:
