Need quick advice! IPOD touch new or refurb?

I want to get DS the 32 because he watches a lot of movies, and Apple just put some refurbished "previous generation" ones on their website, and I'm sure they'll sell out fast! It's a $70 difference between this one and the new one, which should I buy? TIA!

I always buy state of the art. Soon the older ones will be totally archaic. How old is your son?

He's 15, but he really wants a smartphone next year, so this only has to hold him over until then and then I'll inherit it . I don't think that the upgrades from last years to this years model are that important to him (although I could be wrong...).

I have a refurbished one that I bought nearly a year ago. It works fine. If he wants the newest and the latest you should probably spring for the new one. If he doesn't care (or you don't care since it's ultimately going to be yours) I don't see why it would be a bad thing to buy the refurbished one. There's a year warranty on them.

The new ones have camera's. I would do the new one.
