Ok its getting closer....

Need some information....
five of us will be in one garden room at the poly...I'm starting to realize that If I cant sleep at night...where do I go?
I've been getting up for about an hour mostly-every nite lately. (Perimenopause?)

Also, I left our last day open for whatever. Maybe Universal, or maybe the Ocean? Our plane will leave about 8:00pm
Will we have time?

If you do two people per bed, and one on the daybed, then 5 should fit comfrotably.

If you need to get up at night but not disturb the others, each building has little sitting areas, usually on each floor, and you can always get into the Great Ceremonial House (although none of the shops etc. will be open). If the weather's nice, you can go sit on the beach.

I think that the closest beach is about an hour away, but I'm not positive since I've never gone.

Have a great trip!

If you have a room with a lanai or balcony, you could go out there and enjoy the view.

As WDW Poly Princess said, you could go to the GCH. There are seating area there and you could read. Captain Cook's is open 24 hours.....maybe grab a milk. That may help you go back to sleep. ;)

I actually don't think most of the longhouses have seating areas...just the three newest ones as well as Hawaii which is concierge. Oh, and there is one outside on the bridge between Raratonga and Nuie. Could easily be wrong though because I haven't been upstairs in any longhouses except Hawaii. But Rapa Nui, Tahiti, and Tokelau do indeed have seating areas...like mini lobbies.

We have driven to both shores but so many years ago I don't remember well. My foggy memory thinks maybe 90 minutes to the Atlantic and 2 hours or so to the Gulf. But you could also enjoy the Polynesian until flight time. :sunny:

You could always take a walk outside. I've done this at night and it is really beautiful. You will have no problem getting a hammock on the beach!! LOL!!! I love the beach at the Poly, walking along and seeing all the lights from the MK and the other resorts. Also as WDW Princess said, each longhouse has a seating area. You could go there and read if you like to do that. Maybe something boring that would help you sleep!! As for a beach, I'm sure all the Fla residents could tell you much better than me, but I would think that Daytona is the closest. We went there once years ago during a visit to WDW. I absoultely LOVE the Poly and hope you will too!

Have a Wonderful Vacation!!!

We arrived really late one night (after 1am) and ended up sitting by the pool enjoying the view with a snack....I would recommend that if you need to get out of the room for a bit.

Thanks everyone, you have turned something that seemed like a problem into something that I cant wait to do. Thats a great idea about the hammock. And walking by the beach, sigh...
I love to snack at night, but as of a couple days ago, I'm trying to stop eating after 7pm. (Maybe I'll have to splurge on vacation), eating fruits and vegies, cut out some breads etc. ..my middle age spread is spreading.

I thought maybe everything might be closed for the evening, as far as the GCH goes, etc.

I'm loving the idea of the Poly more and more! sigh...

We like walking to the CGH at like 2 am. You can refill your mug at Capt. Cooks- a very bored CM will be working there if you want someone to talk to :teeth: You could fill your mug w/hot cocoa and go sit out by the beach at watch the MK. That sounds really nice
