Okay. Time to get serious about planning and I need to figure out a few things and could really use the help of more experienced planners. We will be there the week after Memorial Day (family of 6: the kids range from 10 to 18; plus two very young and agile grandparents) We will be at Hojos.

The facts:
We will be there May 29-June1 (Tuesday through Friday)
We want to take a day and go to Universal Studios Hollywood
There are Gradnites Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
(Gradnites are run a little different this year with the parks not closing early, but all those teens getting parkhoppers and their own special showing of F! after closing—so it’s anyone’s guess how it will affect crowds but I suspect they will head for the E-ticket rides)
MM are offered T and Th
All nights have 2 WOC and 2 F!
FW are offered every night

Crowd predictions according to TP
Tuesday-7 of 10
Wednesday-5 of 10
Thursday- 2 of 10 (can this be right? Why so low?)
Friday- 5 of 10

I don’t know anything about crowd predictions at Universal and I wonder if most Southern California school districts will be still in school.

So I need to decide the following:
1. Which night WOC?
2. Which night F!?
3. Which night FW? (I know you can theoretically see F! and FW on the same night but I would prefer to split them up)
4. Which morning MM? (we get one only)
5. Which day is best for Universal ?
(Our family has seen F! and FW but never WOC and it’s all new to the Grandparents, if that helps!)

Oh…and we have no dining or dessert packages, trying to keep it economical since there are 8 of us!

Sorry such a long post! I could really use whatever opinions you all have to offer.
Thank you soooo much for your help!
:)

First off forget TP, they should not be your guide at DLR.

1. Which night WOC?
2. Which night F!?
3. Which night FW? (I know you can theoretically see F! and FW on the same night but I would prefer to split them up)

5. I would far most like to do this on DLR's busiest day which will be Friday, though I would rather finish at DL. So Universal on Thursday or Wednesday. Make sure you do Tranformers first, then the Mummy.

1. Friday
2. Wednesday
3. Tuesday
4. Ideally Thursday unless you take that day to go to Universal.

Also, try to be flexible since FW can be cancelled due to wind. The reason why skiingfast suggested that having FW earlier in the week is in the chance it gets cancelled later. So if it gets cancelled on Tues, try to catch F! that night, etc. You'll have several opportunities to catch FW, just make sure you try to catch it early on so you won't miss it later. Have fun!!
