Hi everyone...... :yay:

We are less than two weeks away from our first trip to BWV as new DVC members. :woohoo: We've got a reservation for a Garden View Studio for the two of us..... me and DW.

We are experienced WDW Travelers so I'm not worrying about the park planning or ADR's, but what can you tell me about BWV so we don't miss anything.

Any help will be much appreciated. popcorn::

Enjoy your trip!
The laundry room is on the ground floor. Turn right when you get off the elevator and go down the hall just a bit and the laundry room is on your left.
There is entertainment on the boardwalk at night.
DVC gets a 10% discount at the Big River Grill and Brewing Works. 4 adults and 3 kids all enjoyed their food there last Saturday. 2 had chicken alfredo, one had salmon salad and I forget what I had, but it was good.:lmao: The kids enjoyed grilled cheese sandwiches.

Thanks for the tips, Bobbi.

You know how it is...... you think you've got all the info, but somehow you're worried you might miss something ????? That's how I feel.

Oh well..... I'm sure we'll be OK and learn as we go along. ;)

There are a lot of long hallways at BWV. Parking is somewhat remote to the buildings. Stay away from the bakery, found a nasty hair in my muffin last time.

The Belle Vue room is nice for a quick breakfast (especially if it is cold/hot/rainy outside). Although they get their stuff from the bakery, never saw a hair! :)

For a garden view studio, I would request Village Green view. You get a partial boardwalk view and are close to the elevators.

Not sure if you like to grill. There are charcoal grills located right near Community Hall and the quiet pool.

in addition to all the above:
- walk (rather than using the friendships) to DHS and EPCOT sometimes...both are a wonderful stroll :lovestruc
- enjoy the street performers in the evening
- go to jellyrolls
- rent a dvd (free), play ping-pong at community hall
- sit on the back balcony with a book (and/or the nook below it)
- try the tasty (and in my experience, hairless:lmao:) treats at the bakery
- ride the keister coater (clown slide), try the quiet pool, as well as the beautiful BWI pool
- rent a surrey bike
- watch a movie on the beach at the BC/YC
- hold hands as you watch illuminations from the bridge, and/or the upper fireworks from the BW itself
- chat with the CMs....we find them wonderful there

the parking lot is a bit of a walk to some (we, as well as my 88yo parents don't find it bad, btw :confused3.)....either way, it is absolutely worth every single step to feel like as if you were transported to another, perfect, world far away from the unmagical parts of reality :cloud9:

enjoy :)

Parking is not a problem for us.... we use ME and love it..... and we'll stay away from the muffins. Thanks.

Thanks.... this is nice to know !

Already requested.... but no big deal if we don't get it. We don't hang around the room too much. Thanks Debbie.

Ah..... you've heard of my grilling ability...... thanks for the tip. I love a good steak on the grill.

Thanks for all the wonderful information..... I'm feeling better by the moment. And we ALWAYS hold hands where ever we are. We are still on our honeymoon.

If you're into mini golf, Fantasia Gardens is walkable from BWV. It is located near the Swan resort and has both mini golf and mini fairway golf. We've tried the mini golf and found it nicely themed. You get a discount being DVC.

Thanks Heidi...... :thumbsup2

We love playing at Fantasia Gardens. In fact in December, 2008, we held the JQU Open, Mini Golf Championship there with some members of Mouse-aid and another site attending. We had around fifty friends competing and we had a blast. We might have to walk over and try it again. :yay:

If you are a DVC member, most of the restaurants in the Swan & Dolphin resorts will give you a 20% discount if you show them your membership card. We take advantage of that often. :)

If you are not a DVC member, check out restaurant.com - lately, it's been offering some good deals for the DTD & Swan/Dolphin restaurants. Use 32830 & 5 miles when you search. The WDW locations should show up on the first couple of pages. If you wait towards the end of the month, there are often reductions in the coupon prices. So sign up for their club/newsletter. Of course, if you wait, you run the risk of the place you want selling out, but I don't think that has happened very often for the Disney locations.

The best part about staying at BWV or BCV is that there is a very short walk off the boardwalk right into World Showcase. We always had the hopper pass and love to go to Epcot at night. It so nice that you don't have to take transportation and you're home in no time after the park closes.
