I feel like an idiot. At one time I bought a package of two piecrusts. Saved one in a ziploc without baking instructions. :lmao:

Can some one please suggest an oven temp and time?

Thanks! :goodvibes

Just depends on what you are putting in the pie crust. What are you making???

Thank you! I'm baking it completely , then I'll add a mixture of hamburger, corn, tomato sauce and cheddar cheese (on top) and stick it back in the oven for 15 minutes...enough to melt the cheese on top.

My box says this:

1. Bring crust to room temperature (refrigerated, 15 min; frozen 60-90 min.)

2. Place crust in ungreased 9" pie plate & press firmly against side & bottom.

3. Baked shell (unfilled) - prick bottom & sides with fork, bake 10-12 min. @ 450°. Cool before filling.

4. Filled pie - do not prick; bake as directed in recipe. FYI the apple pie recipe on the box says 425° for 40-45 minutes.

Hope this helps!

Thanks everyone! I'm gonna try it at 450 and watch it closely. Thanks for the reminder to poke it with a fork....I totally would have forgotten to do that! :thumbsup2

For just the crust, you may want to either prick it with a fork and bake it at 425 until golden or place a sheet of foil on it then fill with beans to keep from bubbling and bake until golden. But once you fill it, Id lower the temp to 350 to warm everything through and melt the cheese. If its on a higher temp you risk burning the cheese...Good luck. That recipe sounds yummy!!

Thanks Daleswife, the suggestion to lower the temp makes a lot of sense.

As for the recipe,...I have been craving this recipe for 30+ years. It's one my mom made in the 70's. I have tried to recreate it without success. My mom called me yesterday and found it! I can see I was missing some major ingredients. I will post it if it turns out well.

I've been looking for kid freindly, yet healthy recipes, and this has that feel-good 70's vibe to it.

Thanks for all the help folks!

My package says to use a 400 degree oven thaw for 10-20 minutes poke and then bake 11-14 minutes

This is for deep dish in the pan already crust
