I have an autistic son. Were going to WDW soon, and I need a way to keep his mind busy. Hes been many times, and the whole "new" excitement thing is over by now; its just for fun now.
He wants to eat all the time. All he thinks about is food. He's overweight and I need some things to keep his mind thinking about something other than food. Any suggestions? Anyone know of any websites with Disney ~PARK~ trivia or such? We have the disney board games and DVD game, but I want something new and just for the parks. We also will be getting each kid a new PAL Mickey, as their old one dont work in the parks anymore. (They offered to trade us for a new one and the kids wouldnt part with it.) Weve done the Epcot Kidstops too... many times.
Im looking for just some things I can print onto a index card. Maybe a scavenger hunt type thing. Any suggestions?
I'm gonna post an identical thread on the DISabilities section.

Hidden Mickeys are a great thing to search for in the parks... I must admit I a LOT of time searching for hidden mickeys.

I think you can get a book at the Disney Store, or Chapters gives a bunch of hints for finding HM, but you can also do it without any help.

Have an amazing trip!

Not sure if this would work for your family and it does involve an extra cost, but what about the family magic tour at the Magic Kingdom? That whole tour is essentially a "hunt" which fits that need. Also, if you have a disney visa they offer 20% off the tour price for each person. I'm thinking of booking it for our family this May just to give us a different perspective to the MK.

Also, there are a couple highly rated "Unofficial" Disney Trivia books by Louis Mongello - "The Walt Disney World Trivia Book" - he has two different volumes out currently. That might be another place to start, those books are around $10 on places like amazon.

Great ideas so far! THANKS! My son is OBSESSED with hidden mickeys. He finds them in non-disney movies, in his food, LOL everywhere! He also picks them out with a keen eye at the parks. he spots the ones I miss. One of his autistic advantages I guess!
I'll look into the tour.
I'm on the webpage now.

I just saw a book: Passporter's Treasure Hunts at Walt Disney World.
They have over 100 hunts for ages 6 and up. It's $9.92 at Amazon. It got really good reviews too
