I was just reading the AP blockout post and it made me think that maybe we should change the plans we had for when to visit DLR. We were planning to go to DCA on the first day of our trip, April 20 (around dinnertime since we are traveling that morning), we then planned to do DL on the 21 and 22 with DCA again on the 23. I see that there is a blackout day for APs on the 24th, should we go to LA on the 23rd and use our last day of our 4 days passes on the 24 for the blackout day, which would also mean that Matterhorn would be running and we could get a chance to ride that. OR should we just get 5 day passes and use part of the evening for a fifth day at the parks after we return from LA? The 5 day passes are not even $10 more than the 4 day passes.

Either or. Five day passes do not cost that much more than 4 day. But if you were planning to leave DLR for a day you could kill two birds with one stone.

Originally WOC was supposed to open April 24. Now the rumors are May 1. If they make it April 24 it will be slammed that day with non-AP holders wanting to see the show. Most of the AP holders will know the opening date for WOC and will delay a visit until it opens.

I would get the five day passes just so you can go everyday if you want to. And we will be there the 19th-23rd, maybe we will see you!

I would also do the 5 days. Gives you more time to adjust.

I'm not sure whether it's better to go to DL on the 23rd or 24th, but I will always want to add a day to my hopper, even if it will give me less than half an extra day in the parks.

If you're getting the promotional hoppers, you probably are paying around $50 for each of the first three days. I consider days 4 and 5 as adding on days for $10 apiece. So to me, even if you're just spending a few hours in the park those days, it's worth it, since the upgrade was 1/5 the price of a full day's admission. :)

I guess I will be talking dh into getting 5 day tickets instead. Hopefully he goes for that, he's already saying I am trying to cram far too much into our vacation. He wants to be able to SLEEP IN on his vacation, I say NO WAY we are paying a lot of money and I want to get my money's worth!!

Well it's settled, I just spoke to dh and he has agreed to getting 5 day hopper passes! Yea, we won't be missing Matterhorn afterall!
