Need Opinions...What Car To Get???

We currently have a 93 Civic and a 98 CRV. We got FIL's 98 CRV(lots of miles, not in as good of shape as ours). We plan to trade that in and get a new car. We will be giving the Civic to DH's niece.
So now the dilemma, we will still have a 98 CRV, so would you get a new Civic, or a new CRV. Our list of pros & cons is pretty much even and we keep going back and forth. The Civic is cheaper and its nice to have a car along with the"SUV"(small as it is). On the other hand, we both really like driving the CRV, and since our trade in is basically a gift, maybe getting the more expensive car now would make more sense. We could get the cheaper car in a couple years.
So, any opinions?

The SUV all the way! I wouldn't have anything but an SUV....I know its a gas gussler and all the negatives but I can't help it I love our SUV!

Whatever you get DO NOT get a Ford Escort!! But if I had to choose between the Civic & CRV, I would go with the CRV. I have wanted one for a long time! Wish I could afford it! Good luck with whichever you decide on. :)

Actually the CRV isnt bad on gas.
Keep in mind, we will already have one CRV.
Im so confused!!!

Skip both and go for the S2000 ;) Honestly I love my Civic and I was at one point in the same situation as you! The Civic just felt so much safer to drive in to me and I just loved how it handled. But that is just me.

One for you, one for DH....of course you get the new one!!

Absolutely! ;) Actually on our first one I wanted blue, at the last minute I chickened out because I thought it looked a little brighter than I had first thought. So we ordered a green one. I have always regretted not getting the blue(especially when my neighbor got a blue one a couple years ago!). So, if we get the CRV it will definitely be blue and it will be MINE! :teeth:

I've had my 2002 Subaru Forester for about 1.5 months now & I LOVE it!!!!! I've wanted one for a long time. Did all my research & it's highly recommended by Consumer Reports......

I can't wait for it to snow, so I can give the AWD & ABS brakes a good try out.

It's in the car-based SUV class. It's not big at all, but tons of room in side. I'm getting about 25-26 mpg highway.

I think both the Civic and the CRV are really nice looking. Honda has done a great job redesigning them. I would probably get the CRV since I really want an SUV, but that's just me. :)

Thanks for the advice everyone!

It definitely has to be a Honda...BIL is a Honda mechanic, and can get us a discount.

Actually, our first choce would be the Odyssey. We test drove it recently and really liked it. Only problem is we dont want to go into that much debt. So for our price range the only choices are the Civic & CRV. We will probably get both within a few years, but our dilemma is which one to get now(with one CRV in the family already).
