Hi, just a question for you Disney Experts. Which resturant would be the most fun for my seven year old son and four year old daughter? I have PS at Donald's Breakfastasaurus for a character breakfast, but this is all so far. I would like to make one or two more. We will be staying at OKW the week of Dec. 8 - 13. I am looking for something fun for the kids, doesn't have to be another character meal, but that would be ok too. Just something that would fun for them. All opinions welcome!:D

My sister-in-law said my nephew could not get enough of Chef Mickey's in the Contemporary. Very kid-centered and fun. They had a breakfast, lunch, and a dinner there--loved them all. The Castle is always wonderful for lunch (only have characters at breakfast, I think), 50's Prime Time Cafe and Sci-Fi Dine In Theater in Studios are also fun themes.

Have a great time! The Christmas decor is beautiful.

whispering canyon cafe at the WL is a lot of fun for everyone. we enjoy breakfast there, but others seem to enjoy the other meals also. tony's town square is now serving a character breakfast and lunch. pooh and friends are there. this is scheduled til mid-december when crystal palace reopens. hope this helps! have you ever stayed at OKW?:p

My 7yo nephew LOVED Chef Mickey's. I was a bit afraid he would be "too cool" for the characters, but I still get a little teary-eyed when I think about him hugging Mickey and telling him "I love you, Mickey!" He though it was "all that and a bag of chips!"

Edited to add:
We were there in May of this year and thought the food was pretty good, but I may have been eating cardboard for all I know, I was so busy watching Tyler w/ the characters!

Today...I have been reading some very discouraging posts about the food at Chef Mickey's....(that wasn't our experience...but then again...its been a long time since we ate there)....
I have to agree with a couple of others who posted the Whispering Canyon and the Prime Time Cafe....(particularly if mom asked for ketchup at the WC...and misbehaved (a bit) at the PTC...

Honestly....I saw the Whispering Cayon Cafe (at the Wilderness Lodge) on the Travel Channel today....and can't imagine kids your age...not having an ABSOLUTE BLAST!!!!.....it has a "western" theme and the kids run around the place on wooden pony sticks...they wave their napkins in the air and "hoot and holler"....now...MOM...may need an aspirin after leaving....pretty loud place:p :p :p .......BUT........the kids seemed to be having a ball.........PLUS.......the WL should be great fun for your kids to explore....don't forget to stand by the geyser....goes off every hour............OKAY.........my vote.......(drum roll please).....would be to include the Whispering Canyon as one of your meals!!!!!

Thanks for the great responses! I also saw the Wispering Canyon today.....that was what got me thinking about planning some more meals. I didn't want to be to scheduled but this place sounds like it was a blast! Prime Time Cafe sounds fun too! What are the chances of us just going in and getting a seat without making PS in Dec.? It is so hard to know what time you will want to eat ahead of time. And no, we have never stayed at OKW - it looks gorgeous and spacious and I just can't wait! But on the Wilderness Logde today, the Fort Wilderness Cabins looked really great too - I turned them down when I booked this vacation because I didn't like the pictures, but the show made them look awesome!

You really should not have any problems getting a seat without a PS or the time you are going.......

Have a great time....we are going the same time as you....perhaps we shall run into each other at either the PTC or the WC....{I'll be the 40 something mom with my elbows on the table at the PTC...and waving my napkin in the air and asking for ketchup at the WC while three "cooler than all that" teen girls look on...AGHAST:smooth: :smooth: at he antics of their mother....
