Need opinions on keeping old love letters etc

Thank you! All the replies have gotten me thinking about different aspects of the whole thing.

I sat down and really read the letters from when he was away in the Air Force and in truth, they were written by a 21 year old, insecure girl who had one little boy and another on the way and who sounded desperate and scared to be by herself (well I was staying with my parents).

There is nothing positive about them at all. And as a matter of fact Im really embarassed reading them. I was pleading for him to write to me and then accusing him of not caring...

My 15 year old said "EW Mom NO! I dont want to read them! Its not like you lived happily ever after... Toss 'em!"

My 17 year old wants to look at them but said in truth she really doesnt care if I toss them after that.

So I am leaning to just saving a few of the cards he wrote (where he wasnt apologising) and then a few more that I wrote that werent too mushy or embarassing.

burn em -- they were between you and the ex. See my parents moving thread - they destroyed all their letters to each other and I'm glad. They weren't for me to read.
