Hello everyone and first of all let me say my heart goes out to all those affected by the last hurricane and everyone that will have to ride out this next storm. Now, for my dumb question:: Wanted some advice from past BCVers. Any tips, warnings, helpful thoughts? We would be going in July(sizzle-sizzle) Any advice as far as location would also help. Thanks guys.:)

I guess it depends on what location you would like, Epcot view, pool view, wood view etc. When we were there last year we asked for a pool view with a large balcony which is what we got. We loved being able to sit on our huge balcony (it ran the width of all 3 of our rooms in our 2 bedroomed villa) and watch the alligator and sea turtles in the canal each morning. I believe if you ask for an Epcot view you are near the service road which can be a little noisy at times. If you like a nice balcony I would request this as some of the balconies are small. I love the BCV, I find the place really relaxing and peaceful. Have a great trip.

We are DVC members with BCV as our home resort. We have had the pool view several times, and have loved it (we just would prefer not being on ground level). We've also had an Epcot view, and although I didn't think I would like it, I LOVED it! It was great being able to see the fireworks from Illuminations on our balcony. So I think whatever location you get, you'll be happy. Lots of BCV info on the DVC board.

I love BCV. We had woods view on our last trip VERY peaceful.
If you are in a studio the laundry is on the 4th floor and its free (except for powder etc)
A path goes from BCV to the lake area near the bridge to the Boardwalk (excellent short cut) which means you wont have to go through the beach club to get to EPCOT
But for more tips try posting on the DVC boards you will get loads of replies.
Hope that helps

I'm aslo a DVC'er and stayed at BCV twice. We love it! both stays were pool views with the large balcony although I never requested a specific view. The location is great with lots of activities and things to do. Going back next summer as soon as I can hammer out dates with my family. Enjoy! :)

We had a terrific time, staying on the top floor, in a studio, with an Epcot view. Illuminations every night!! :bounce:

It was wonderful -- and convenient to both the quiet pool and the parking lot.

It's a lovely resort, with some great public areas; it was a joy to wander out to the sunroom early in the morning to have my coffee and read the paper. I got to know the bakery delivery guy pretty well -- we crossed paths almost every morning :D .

Do not be afraid of July, btw! We arrived a day or two after the 4th, and the crowds were not bad at all. A bus driver mentioned that a LOT of people flock down there for the 4th, then leave, and then there's a week or so of relative calm. Certainly, that was the case when we were there. We did early mornings, when the weather was milder, and got a lot done.

Go and enjoy!
