Ok, we need to decide if we should use 2 credits for the Cali Grill or if we should use them for the Safari tour at AK (Grand Gathering) with dinner following at Tusker House. There are 11 of us, including 5 kids--4 of which are 7 and younger. I'm thinking the adults would like CG, but the kids would probably like the Safari. What is the crowd like at CG, is it mostly adults? Also, isn't there a dress code? I'm not sure the kids will like or be able to sit a long time at CG, but on the other hand, I don't want the adults to be disappointed with the Safari and dinner.

I know I can't really compare the two, but what are your opinions?? :confused3

Considering the Grand Gatherings will no longer be offered after Jan 2012, I think I'd go with that one. It's an experience you won't get the opportunity to have again, whereas Cali Grill will "always" be there.

We did the safari in AK last year as part of our CL stay, not sure if its the exact same, but it was brilliant. Great photo opps. Animals so close that you could touch them. We also ate in the Cali on Christmas day and were very underwhelmed with it. Probably expected TOO much. Our kids (8&6) were fine there. We got a window table and they loved the view. As PP said if the safari is stopping I'd definitely do that.

I would do the safari for the same reason stated above because this will be the last opportunity for you to experience that. Also you're going to disney and I think all grownups understand if you have kids you're for the most part going for them so I don't think the grown ups would be disappointed. If grown ups want to go off on their own for grown up experiences that's their choice but going as a group you need to consider what is appropriate for the kids.

Exactly, I agree.

No more grand gatherings?! :sad1: We are going in Arpril and already had planned on Tony's and the Safari.

Safari, hands down. like others have said, you can always do Cali Grill. The safari seems like an experience like no other. And I'm pretty sure NO ONE will be disappointed with the safari option!! :thumbsup2
