I'm going down to WDW in less then a week our first day there we have the Holiday Sleigh Ride reserved from the Wilderness Lodge. This is supposed to be a budget trip but it sounded really nice but i'm wondering for those who have done it before is it worth the cost?

What exactly happens? Would you do it again?

If its not something that is worth the cost i might take it out and give us more time at our resort to unwind from our flight before dinner.

Thanks
:)

forgive me for i am new .... but how did you get all those smiley's in a pile and what does it mean ... is there a guide to what all the faces mean?

Forgive my computer illiteracy.

We did the sleigh ride in 2004 and we enjoyed it. Don't expect to see anything once you leave the Lodge because it just goes through the woods and is very dark and quiet. It is a nice peaceful ride and lasts about a half an hour.

We would probably do it again, but it is not a must do. Do it and enjoy! It will be a nice relaxing way to kick off your vacation!

In my opinion, it was nice but not something I would do again. We were trying to figure out why it didn't thrill us and realized that we needed snow. It just isn't the same without the snow.

We did the sleigh ride a couple years back...

Let me first admit, I am "romantically challenged", but I try.

As you leave the WL, you go into the dark woods. Dark woods are much colder than in front of the hotel. I was freezing, and although DW won't admit it, she was too! There is nothing to see- it's THE DARK WOODS!

Highlight was coming back to the hotel just as the MK fireworks were going off, and being where there was light and warmth.

I guess it might be good for teens who want to make-out. My wife and I still remember.... "the cold dark woods".

Worth the money?

No...................................................... . . . . . . . . . . . .

I am actually doing this tomorrow night so I will let you know my thoughts when I return on Monday!

It was a nice thing to do once. My DD (age 9 at the time) was thrilled when we went to see the carriage to learn that in a few minutes she would be riding in it. Since the ride is in the dark, we wouldn't do it again. I wish the lights that are on the carriage would stay on for the ride giving off that soft, gentle glow. Due to the battery life, they only put the lights on when it is parked outside the WL. The bells were nice. The $30 for the whole carriage I thought was reasonable.

Funny how things change when you get older. Makes you think that maybe you should just pretend you are a teenager again and make-out on the sleigh ride! I'll bet it would've been unforgetable then!
