Howdy!

Usually go to WDW in August yearly, bit I would like to plan a short trip in Decmeber to coincide with DD's 11th b-day. I have always wanted to see WDW at Christmas.

For those who have gone at this time of year, any suggestions on the minimum number of day's to go to be able to see most of the decorations/events at the parks? (Trying to minimize the number of days of missed school...)

Thanks,

Jacquie

We love going at this time of the year to see the decorations.

And there is MVMCP - where it snows on Main Street at MK and they have special fireworks.

And there is Osborne Lights at MGM, that starts at dusk - Around 6 pm I think.

And at Epcot they have the Candle light processional. Epcot also has story tellers at each of the countries, we have never been able to see them all. Each country has it's own Christmas/holiday decorations.

We also love to see the resorts decorated for Christmas. BW/Y&B each have elaborate decorations in their lobbies. WL has a beautiful tree.

We have done Disney on 4 days around Christmas, but you are not able to see everything. Good Luck

I think it depends on when you are talking about going...the closer to the holiday, the busier it will become.

We are going from Sat the 9th thru Sat the 16th and my DS' 10th birthday falls on the 11th. From the beginning we decided to pull him out for the week (he's a gifted student so the teachers actually encourage the breaks at times) and we're planning to take our time to see it all.

GL with your planning!

If you're only going to be there for 4 days or so, don't plan on seeing it all. We usually go the first week in December, but this year we're going a week later. The crowds are really manageable and the weather can be iffy. Do your research and pick the things you have to see. I highly recommend MVMCP, and the Osbourne Lights. If you're staying at a monorail resort, seeing the decorations at the Polynesian, GF and Contemp is a must do. You will have a wonderful time!

We go in Dec and we arrive late Thurs night and come home on Monday evening. We go to AK in the am, MGM at night. The next day we go to MK and stay all day and attend the MVMCP that night...we also take time out to see the resorts at POLY, GF and WL. The next day we go to Epcot and take the time to see BC/YC and BW. The day we leave we go to DTD.

I think the 4 days is plenty of time to see the decorations.
