Hi there. It's been several years since we took a Disney trip, and quite awhile since I've visited here. We may take a last minute trip to WDW on 1/31 for 5 nights. I am waiting for the AAA agent to call with some package prices, but I got these rates from Disney.
Animal Kingdom (standard): $970
Caribbean Beach: $619
Pop Culture: $351

I'm really unsure as what to do. I'm tempted by the $351 price, being it's such a last minute trip. We have never before stayed in a value resort. Opinions on any of these prices would be much appreciated. Thanks!

It depends on what you want in a resort, I have stayed at all three. If you are only going to be there 5 days will you be spending most of your time in the park? Then definitly go with Pop Century, its a good resort, good Disney customer service but pretty basic.

If you plan on spending time at the pool, want a hot tub, or a sit down restaurant go with the moderate.

Animal Kingdom Lodge is a very nice resort, if you love animals, or will be spending a lot of time there, go for Animal Kingdom.

None of them are bad options in my opinion, but if you think about it the difference between AK and POP is $600 so that could get you a behind the scenes tour, could be a big difference in where you eat, etc. If money is not a problem by all means go with Animal Kingdom.

You can find DVC members who sell extra weeks on Ebay. Just type in Boardwalk villas or Disney vacation club and select the category Travel. Many times, you can get 5 nights for under $800 and this is definitely a great deal considerin this is about $1400 from Disney. Also, the suite at Boardwalk Villas has a fridge, micro and mini kitchenette. The pool there is the BEST, themed after an amusement park with a huge slide, etc.

Also there is no TS at the Value resorts. If you want to sit and have a drink at a bar it is outside. You would have to sit in the food court to sit inside.
The rooms/beds are smaller than Deluxe.

Ok now let me add I will be at the Pop Century from Jan 28-Feb 2. It is a last min trip for DS6 and me for the EE preview.

I have stayed at WL that is where I would stay if I were going to go Deluxe. I like the boat ride to MK/CR and you have a short ride by bus or boat to the monorail.

No matter which you choose have a great trip.
