We are going to the fort for the first time and we wanted to know if you like the 300 or the 1500 loop better?

We are tent camping. We saw that the 300 is closer to the outpost and such but I have heard some wonderful things about the 1500 loop.

Thanks!!

First let me say we camp in a motorhome and we love 300 because it's close to everything - mainly the marina. :goodvibes This loop, however, is a bit tight and I will say it's usually full of motorhomes and other rvs...not a lot of tent campers in this loop. You'll hear a lot of motorhome/rv noise such as a/c or heaters (depending on when you go). Don't know if this would bother you or not.:confused3

We've not stayed in 1500, but we did stay next door in 1600 and loved it too. It was quieter, being away from most of the action, and there was more room to spread out. We weren't as close to the neighbors. There were also more tent campers in this loop.

Hope this helps, and you'll have a great time no matter what loop you're in. :thumbsup2

300 is closer to the Settlement (near the Marina), not the Outpost (which is where you check in). 300 is also a pet loop, if that makes any difference to you. 1500 is nearer the Meadows complex which includes the campfire, a trading post, and swimming pool. With a golf cart, bikes, or the internal busses, it really doesn't make that much difference. You will likely visit both areas while you are there. 300 is closer to the boat to MK, but 1500 is closer to the Outpost bus transportation to all other parks. Again, either location is accessible to everything.

I figure we spend more time between the pool, campfire, and refilling drinks/trading post so I like 1500. It was a perfect location for us and made taking the GC down to the marina or settlement seem like more of an adventure.

I didn't realize it wasn't a pet loop. The folks next to us had two little dogs DD10 couldn't walk past without petting. Wonder how that got past checkin...

Although there are certain loops designated as pet loops, you are likely to see pets in most any loop these days. The thinking seems to be that an effort is made to put pets in pet loops, but they are allowed to spill over into other loops if the pet loops get crowded. About the only difference I've noticed is the presence of poop bag stations in designated loops. And these are not always used, even when available.:sad2:
