Need opinion on best romantic hotel for couple...

The Grand Floridian, Wilderness Lodge, and Yacht Club would all be good. So would a 1-BR Villa at a DVC resort (at WL, for example).

My husband and I found CBR to be incredibly romantic and a great deal for the price.

We did decide to try a Deluxe on our next visit and decided the BWI looked incredibly romantic. Unfortunately, we had to cancel at the last minute....Drs orders =(

I agree it is a little high but so worth it. My advice is pay the extra money and stay on the club level in the main lodge.

Great rooms, amazing atmosphere and the food is out all day with adult beverages at night. We ate all week for almost nothing.

There is a reason they get the price they do.

There is just something so special about the GF..... That has my vote. I have never stayed there... We are saving it up for a special trip with just hubby and I.

Thanks ALL for your opinions...only problem is now I'm more confused than before:) -It all sounds great!!! I will probably make a decision within 2 weeks.....I'll post my answer then.....

If a king size bed is important & you want the Epcot area you can't go wrong with the Swan or Dolphin. I don't believe the YC allows you to book a king size bed but I think the Swan & Dolphin do (at least they did when we stayed there 2 years ago). Beds are heavenly & a short boat ride to Epcot. The Swan is smaller and more quiet. The Dolphin larger, seems like there are more kids but they have more restaurants (a burger place, Fresh, a quick foods place, Shula's, etc). I have stayed at both & prefer the Dolphin. Many couples seem to like the Swan better. But I wouldn't hesitate to stay at either one.

Agree on the Swan and Dolphin...
They'd be at the top of my list.

My vote is for the Poly, having just returned from our 32nd anniversary trip with no kids. I keep reading about the loud ac, maybe that was before the rehab but we didn't hear the ac, in fact, most of the time at night we just used the ceiling fan. Queen beds, but like a previous poster said, very romantic to walk the beach, tiki torches lit and watch Wishes. However you said you prefer the Epcot area, so I would go with YC.

Polynesian gets our vote! My husband won't even step foot in the GF to look at the shops after his first visit there. The Polynesian reminds us of our honeymoon in Hawaii.

Big Al, grab a couple Lapu Lapus from the Tambu Lounge, walk down to the beach to watch the fireworks and the "kiss goodnight" as the castle changes colors, then take the long way back to your room at the POLYNESIAN enjoying those tiki torch lit pathways...

Hot tubs + Disney = Kid Magnets, not so romantic. No king beds at the Polynesian unless you spring for a suite, but what better reason to snuggle?

Have a great trip wherever you stay!:goodvibes

Until recently, I had always booked for romantic retreats for adults only (we now have a son, and are going for family friendly for the forseeable future) - we've done Swan, Dolphin, and Beach Club. We really love staying in the Epcot resort area. (When younger, I also stayed at some of the moderates, and I would say _definitely_ go with one of the deluxes.) I've always requested king beds, but they will not gaurantee them at the Disney owned resorts. I have never had a problem getting them, but I always worry because DH is 6'4" and is miserable in a double bed.

We could book king rooms at the Swan and Dolphin. I eventually decided I would rather gamble on not getting the king bed and stay at either YC, BC, or BWI. (We're trying out the BWI for the first time next month, in one of the Garden Suites people have suggested.) I really love the BC because I love being able to walk downstairs and over a bridge and finding myself in Epcot. I would be tempted by that discount, though...

We're planning on trying one of the monorail hotels next May so we can be close to MK for DS. Before we had him, we never really considered them simply because we would rather be close to Epcot and Disney MGM. Particularly during the Food and Wine Festival, which we adore.

How much time do you plan to spend at your resort and how much time do you plan to spend in which parks? Knowing that might help you make your decision.

GR-We probably will spend one day at EPCOT(though we've gone 20 times,we love it),but the RESORT is the draw here...I think I'm leaning towards the Polynesian or the YC(they have more Kings than the BC) with a slight edge to the YC for location & King Beds....I will check for Fla discounts or AAA for best $$..I'm trying to avoid $400 a night for a room-that's just alot especially since we have a week cruise on RCI in Nov.,and I go the the UK for a week in Dec.......Thanks for your thoughts again!!

BWI is my favorite...I just love the whole are but YC would be my second pick( wins because of location) followed by GF and Poly. Swan looks nice but it doesn't scream disney to me, plus I am not sure of the perks- does Swan use ME?...if that is something that intrests you.

I would vote for either the Swan or Dolphin. All of my kids were conceived at those two hotels. :scared:

Hey Big Al, I hope you enjoy your trip! You won't go wrong with YC or the Poly. My choice of those two would be YC, just because it's completely self contained and has overall better amenities. :)

That said, Grand Floridian is probably the most romantic resort I've stayed at with my wife (we've done couples only trips to GF, Poly and Contemp - kids have been with us on every other trip).

Enjoy!
