I could use some advice. We are visiting family for a few days this week and would love to take my daughter to Universal. It's always tough to squeeze in a visit during our Disney vacations, so this would be a great time. So, we have one full day, not staying on property. My daughter loves coasters and isn't interested in Harry Potter. Is a one park pass, adding Express Pass, ok for one day? Any advice or tips would be appreciated. Thank you!

Which park are you going to? I think if you were able to rope drop the park or stay later, Express may not be necessary unless you wanted to ride the coasters multiple times (even then you'd have to get Unlimited Express, which costs more).

Which park are you going to?

If you're aiming primarily for coasters - IoA has Velocicoaster, Hulk, and Hagrids (which is really fun regardless of Harry Potter interest). Those are the bigger coasters by far. Studios has Rip Ride Rocket, Mummy, & Gringotts (Gringotts is "coaster" enough to call it a coaster, but is for sure not a high intensity ride).

Islands has the water rides but you WILL be soaked on the Popeyes Barges & Dudley Dooright Log Flume. Jurassic Park River Journey you will get wetted but generally not soaked.

For one day, I agree with your plan of picking one park. EP or not is up to you and how much you want to do / what is your tolerance for waiting in lines / are you doing open to close (with a nice lunch break to recharge).
