We are planning a one night stay in Orlando and will be visiting Universal Studios for the two days on either "side" of this one night.

We have been to WDW nurmerous times and always stayed on site.

Can anyone recommend a hotel very near to Universal Studios that is not their "on-site" hotels?

We'd prefer one that includes the complimentary breakfast.

what date are you looking at, and what is your budget?

We stayed at the Sheraton Studio City which was really nice. Its half a mile from US/IOA. I got it on Hotwire for $52/night. I limited my search to Universal area and a 3*. It didn't include breakfast.

This past June we stayed at the "Hampton Inn Closest to Universal Studios." I believe that is it located on Kirkman Road, literally 3 minutes away from Universal.

My wife and I always have been big fans of the Hampton Inn chain, and this worked out great for us. They have a computer room (two computers) with free Internet access.

We stayed at the Doubletree and I really liked it - very nice place. I don't think it has free breakfast though. The hotel restaurant had an awesome buffet breakfast.

This July I stayed at the Fairfield Inn by Marriott on Canada Avenue July 4th weekend for 80.00 dollars a night with the Free Orlando Magic card rate. The hotel was clean and had good free breakfast. It was minutes from US.

We always stay off site the first night we are there. We stay at the Country Inn Suites and if you book through CountryInn.com the rate is only $83.00 and that includes breakfast! It is very clean and the staff is very nice.
