This year we drove down from IL, and arrived around 11pm est...we stayed at Pop our first night, then moved to a different hotel the rest of the trip. We did this, since we weren't sure we'd make the whole drive in one day. Anyway, for next year, we're planning the same thing, but we were thinking maybe we should stay in a hotel off site. I mean, theres no real reason to stay in Disney that night, and it may be easier to just stop somewhere off of I-4, close to Universal or Disney. We're not looking for something cheaper, we just want a nice, convenient hotel. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Up in Altamonte Springs, about 30-60 minutes north of WDW depending on the time of day, there are several hotels I can recommend. There's an Embassy Suites, and a Hilton that I've stayed at, and would stay at either again. There's also another half dozen hotels--I think a Courtyard, maybe a BW, I'm not sure exactly.

There's plenty of restaurants up in that area as well, plus a couple grocery stores.
