Need new sheets!

My favorite sheets, surprisingly, are Target's Threshold Performance sheets. They have deep pockets so I don't struggle making my king size bed, they have tags inside that indicate "top/bottom" which I like, and they stay cool which is important to me. They are soft to me, but I don't know if I'd categorize them as soft like a baby blanket or something in that vein.

Yes, I was just about to post the same sheets. :thumbsup2 I was skeptical at first, when I read the description, which says they are 300 count sheets. But they are THICK sheets, so probably all they can fit in is 300 threads per inch. (Plus the whole thread count thing has turned into somewhat of a scam. In order to fit in a 1200 thread count per cubic inch, the threads have to be so thin, to fit that amount. I've seen lots of reviewers saying their 1200 count sheets ripped or wore through easily.) I've had mine for over a year and they are strong & sturdy, yet soft. And they don't wrinkle as badly as Egyptian cotton sheets.

If you are really wanting soft sheets, stay away from "percale" cotton sheets. They are the ones we all grew up with as a child. Percale threads are spun in such a way to stay crisp and cool and not wrinkle very much. So they always seem to have a starched feel to them, even after years of washings.

For those of you buying Costco sheets, has that been recent?

I bought some Kirkland sheets many years ago (probably about 8 years now). They were just "okay." I wouldn't buy again (these were the nice ones). But I know that manufacturers change yearly so maybe they are better now?

When they have the Jennifer Adams ones in stock, we buy those. And we like them a lot. We don’t buy their private label sheets even though we buy a lot of their private label products such as towels, milk, eggs, and batteries.

Thanks, I keep a look out for those sheets. I had sort of given up on sheets there after my first attempt so I stay out of the sheet aisle, but I'll go look for these.

Garnet Hill also has nice percales. I too could never sleep on flannel sheets, and don't care for sateen. I like crisp, not rough, cotton.

Love Garnet Hill. We are actually getting ready to switch into our Flannels. Williams-Sonoma makes my favorite sheets ever. They are pricey though. They are crisp and soft at the same time. I don’t want to get out of bed when we have these on.

Bed Bath & Beyond always has a range of bedding products and they are constantly sending out those 20% off coupons. Sheets with some designer or celebrity name are probably not any better and some of what you are paying just goes to the person whose name is attached to it.

Honestly I really like IKEA’s 100% cotton sheets. The higher thread count ones aren’t a super high count by any means but they’re very reasonably priced, last for YEARS and are pretty soft.

This is exactly what I was coming to post. The IKEA sheets are fantastic!!! We have a super thick mattress and we added a memory foam topper to and the IKEA ones are the only ones that are deep enough to really stay on the bed.

My favorite sheets came from Kohl's. https://www.kohls.com/product/prd-3545170/croft-barrow-microfiber-sheet-set.jsp I got them in "Blush" They are listed as microfiber but are so smooth and soft. I have purchased cheaper microfiber sheets in the past that were terrible because they would slide around and definitely were not smoothly soft. They also made me feel hot, not a good thing during summer especially. An FYI on the Kohl's sheets is to be sure and feel them in store because there are some variations in feel. Sweet dreams :)

Macy’s Hotel collection 100% Egyptian cotton sheets. Expensive but worth it. I have one set that is going on three years old the other is two years old and they are still in great shape though the elastic is starting to not hold as well on the older set. They are so smooth and just beautiful. They never pill. They do go on sale significantly around now.

I have not tried them myself, but there are sheets on Amazon that have a cult following - Mellanni Brushed Microfiber 1800 Bedding. Comes in a ton of colors and has 4.5 stars with over 60,000 reviews which is pretty amazing. Affordable too.
I agree on the Threshold sheets, probably some of the softs sheets I've used that aren't jersey sheets.

I've purchased good bedding suits recently, called IDEAhome Jersey Knit because of it's material and total quality of things. In my opinion, quality of sheets and it's anti-allergic features are the main options you should rely on.

I agree with Costco sheets. And if you dont like them, Costco takes everything back, whether they've been used or not. You cant lose.

I just wanted to update that I bought some Target Threshold Performance sheets, as recommended here a few times. The fitted sheet BARELY fit on my mattress. In fact, it really didn't. I also washed them 3 times and when I ran my hand across them (or my cheek), I felt a tad bit of roughness. I'm really finicky about that. So the sheets are going to one of my adult children. Good news is that I didn't pay a lot for a Queen set (multiple discounts). Yesterday, I ordered a set of Brooklinen percale. They were pricey so I hope they are good. Their regular sateen aren't bad, I've heard the percale are more breathable so we shall see.
