Need new camera

So, last night at the Magic Kingdom, on the last day of our vacation, I lost our camera. Of course, even though I always downloaded pictures every evening in the past, I did not this trip. So, a whole week of vacation pictures...gone.

Anyway, we'd had it about a year. It was a canon SD 850. I was pretty satisfied with it, but now that we have to replace it, I'm looking to see what I should replace it with. I like the idea of the SLR cameras, but I don't think I am ready for that yet. So, I guess I am looking for a good point and shoot camera that has a decent optical zoom and some other nice features/effects.

Any suggestions???? `

I have heard a lot of positive feedback about the Panasonic Lumix TZ5. It has a 20X zoom and I have seen lots of pictures produced by this camera that were great in lots of situations, low(er) light, fireworks, daytime.

Hi!

I just bought the Panasonic Lumix FZ 28. Its a bridge camera with an 18X zoom and manual settings too. It has really good reviews and I cant wait to receive it so I can try it out!!!! It looks like a mini SLR!

I recommend Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T77/B 10.1-Megapixel Digital Camera..The touch screen works great. The camera is small enough to fit inside your pocket but not too small to affect functionality.

Just a small correction. That camera is actually 10x optical zoom, not 20x. Even though I recently got a DSLR, I'd love to have to TZ5 as my P&S.
