Need Nemo Adoption theme DISigns - Help please!

Ok, I haven't been over here to the DISign studios in over a year, but I used to LOVE lurking here. I have grand dreams of doing t-shirts for DH & I to wear on trips, but just never get around to making them. Anyway, I digress.

I need to ask a Really big favor of some of you wonderfully creative people

I work for DFCS in Georgia and we have a BIG Adoption conference coming up. Our group is doing a Nemo themed display and wants to wear T-shirts w/ various Nemo characters and cute sayings. As soon as they gave the idea I knew exactly who to turn to for help

We have a few ideas, but I would be open to any suggestions you may have. Here are the ideas we came up with:

- Nemo image w/ saying - Stop Clowning Around Adopt Today
- Crush image w/ Don't Crush Their Hopes Adopt Today OR Grab a Child, Dude Adopt Today
- Seagulls w/ a play on the Mine, Mine, Mine thing.... not sure on this one maybe "Make a Child Yours, Yours, Yours Adopt today" OR "Call them Mine, Mine, Mine Adopt Today"
- Dorie - not sure on this one either... Maybe "Don't Forget Adopt today"
- Nemo (maybe w/ friends) - Help Kids Find Their Way Adopt Today Also considered "Don't Let Our Kids Flounder Adopt Today"

So I was thinking of images w/ the various sayings going across the top and the "Adopt Today" part going across the bottom. There will be 30 of us and I was thinking that ultimately we will need to narrow it down to 3 or 4 designs so that we don't look too scattered.

I want to thank you guys ahead of time for any DISigns you come up with! I have NO creative talent and would not no where to begin. But our other option was a one or two color screen printed shirt. I just KNOW that you guys can do something WAY more fabulous than that!!

My two favorite are the "Be a Light in their world" and the "Help Kids Find Their Way" ones!! Those are really great!

The Light one makes me all fluttery and emotional! I really like the image and the statement with it.

I also really like the last one because it is very cartoony and kid like. Plus the image with all the characters in it is great!

OK, I feel really bad to ask this, but I was wondering if I could get just a couple more designs? Like maybe a couple more that are similar to the cartoony one and/or a couple more that have the individual characters w/ goofy sayings (like the first two). OR some more along the lines of the "Light" one (I really LOVE that one, but I'm not positive the rest of the group will )

The reason I ask for a couple more is that we are figuring on doing about 3 or 4 tshirt designs and having thirds or fourths of our group wearing each design. So if we do that, I kind of think the designs maybe should look somewhat similar or have a commonality of some kind. I had not Really thought this out very well I guess! I was thinking that just ending with "Adopt Today" would tie them together enough (and it may). I just hadn't considered the variety of ways it could be done and the variety of images available.

Again, I want to say THANK YOU guys SO much!!! I really think there is some great talent here and I appreciate the help Tremendously!!

Michelle - I think that it is wonderful that you are considering adopting! It is such a blessing! My favorite part of my job is when I get to be a part of adoptions I have a co-worker who was adopted at birth along with her twin sister and she works exclusively with adoptions. I always think how wonderful that is that she has kind of come full circle.

I don't have any more pictures like that, but I will look around and see what I can find. If you have any more sayings you would like to see on them let me know and if I find some I can use those.

Ok, Well, Thanks to you guys, I got inspired to try my hand at this after all. I do have photoshop that I had previously played with a few times. I had intended to start digital scrapbooking and then never really did.

So, I'm gonna post my attempts here. They are pretty basic, but a start I guess. I would really love any and all honest opinions. You won't hurt my feelings. I'd much rather hear it from you guys than the people at work

Here goes:

I figured I would try it with a couple different border colors. What do you guys think? plain or with the border, which is best?

This one was inspired by mcraft. My coworker had said it needed more of the "mine" on it. (Do you think you could add about 3 more to your design? I think that would look great!)

I have a few more, but was not sure how many will fit in a post.

I just want to say that I always say that I do not have a creative bone in my body. I think mostly it isn't that I can't figure out HOW to do things, but that I can't come up with the ideas on my own. So, once you guys posted those it really got me inspired. Thanks!!

I tried some in different fonts because I wasn't sure what looked best. I don't really have any of the special fonts, but I did go find the Disney font. It was a pain so I just stuck with what I already had after that.

OK, first off, I just gotta say both my wonderful children were adopted and it is such a wonderful way to create a family so I have been watching this thread with interest.

I LOVE all the ideas that you came up with for sayings, very creative! I even started to make a couple designs for you but the other designers beat me to it and Michelle's and mcraft's are so great I was a little intimidated.

Now, to see what you have been able to do...I am very impressed. I think they are all WONDERFUL. I mean it. I really like them all. I think the colors that you chose for frames are great. I hope that you have a fantastic event. Good luck.

I think it is so wonderful how many people on these boards have adopted children I feel blessed to be able to be a part of the adoption process. I actually just found out this past week that one of our full time adoption workers is leaving, so I may get offered her position. Right now, I do mostly foster care and just a few adoptions. I really enjoy both sides though, so I'm not really sure what I will do.

I agree that the designs that Michelle and Mcraft did were Awesome! I love them and still think we will probably end up using some of their designs. I just decided that maybe I should give it a shot also.
