Need more info!! WDW Triathlon Sept. 2006

Is anyone here entered in the WDW Triathlon happening this September 2006? My boyfriend is entered in that race, but there is very limited information online for the event. Plus, this is his first triathlon ever!

Does anyone know where we can get more information? Does anyone know the race route? I heard the finish line is in EPCOT - are family and friends allowed into the park to see the participants cross the finish line? Are there any discounts or special rates available through Disney for event participants?

Sorry for all the questions, but the limited information is proving VERY frustrating! Any info would be much appreciated!

I haven't seen course maps but my understanding is that the swim is in Bay Lake from a beach at Fort Wilderness, the bike starts and finishes at Fort Wilderness, then you run from Fort Wilderness to Epcot, do the loop into Epcot, and finish in the parking lot like for the Marathon/half/minnie 15 K. Because you finish in the parking lot, spectators don't have to be able to get into the park and actually you probably can't unless the park is open for guests and you have a park pass.

The information available online is pretty limited right now. Normally if there are going to be any 'discounts' they will made availabe through Anthony Travel.

Good luck to your BF on his first triathlon. I haven't decided if I'm racing it yet or not. Leaning toward not as it's 2 weeks after Ironman Wisconsin and 1 week before the Army 10 Miler and it would make for a whole lot of travel.

I was wondering - if Disney has assigned Anthony Travel to take care of discount room rates, can you still get the Free Dining Plan that is being offered at the same time as the triathlon? Or is it either or?
