How is Baltimore Airport, I am thinking it will be very crowded and confusing. These SWA prices are driving me crazy.

Also my DS has Peanut Allergy will SWA be just as helpful in Balitmore as they are in Philly?

Thank for all help.

I was wondering the same thing today, may try there instead of Phili for our August trip. Looks like there are less gates at Baltimore, hopefully that would mean less crowded?

I took the plunge and bought Baltimore. By the time I decided, it was up $20.00. So instead of $108 I got $128. Still better then $196 x 7.

BWI is a great airport, very easy to navigate. We love flying from there. I can't speak to the peanut allergy though.

I would recommend giving your child an children's antihistamine such as Kids Claratin or Kids Reactine while on vacation. Perferably the 24 hr kind. I'm deadly allergic to Peanuts and find that if I've got a good antihistamine in me that it prevents for the most part a reaction from them. If it doesn't stop the reaction at least I get a lesser reaction than without the antihistamine in me. I always take Reactine on vacation daily, as I never know when I'm going to encounter trace amts of peanuts on my vacation. I know many people are against overdosing their children on drugs, but for vacations, it's a good preventative measure against a more severe reaction, especially kids with severe allergies. Just my 2 cents worth.

Flights are even cheaper out of DCA via USairways if you are willing.

Our allergist actually recommends giving him Benadryl before the flight. we have been with every flight. SWA is good also with not serving them and announcing it. I just hope it's the same no matter where I am. It's scary when we have to change with him.

Thanks for your recommendation

If you didn't make a note on your reservations about the peanut allergy call Southwest reservations. They will include the peanut allergy on your reservation which when then get peanut allergy on the list of specials that the Flight Attendants get for every flight. Also having the peanut allergy listed will make it easier for you to get a blue sleeve so that you can pre-board so that you can wipe down the seat that you select.

I took the plunge too, we are flying out of Baltimore instead of Philadelphia, saved about $1000 (on our 8 tickets) and got better flight times. After 78,000 Rapid Rewards we paid $153.40 including 9/11 fees for 8 nonstop/round trip flights in August.

Southwest has its own terminal and it's easy to navigate. It's not a very big airport.

I would recommend figuring out where you are going to park before you get there. There are hourly, daily, and long term lots operated by the airport that are close in. And a bunch of private lots that are more expensive. We always park in the Daily garage. It's covered. Buses are frequent and probably 5 minutes to the SW terminal once you leave the garage. It's around $12 a day. Pricey but convenient.

Southwest is one of the best airlines out there in terms of dealing with peanut allergies. Just make sure that they know about it and its noted on your reservation.
