I have been lurking on this board for some time and have gotten great planning advice, but this is my first post.

We (myself, DH and DS-5) will be at WDW the first week of June. I thought I was done planning and had all of my PS's done. Well with the shortened hours at MK and the limited availalbility of Spectro and FITS, I've had to do some juggling.

We now have only one night where we can see Fantasmic. I was looking for a restaurant recommendation and your advice on whether or not to do the Fastasmic dinner package.

Other PS I have for our trip are Chef Mickey's, Whispering Canyon Cafe, Artist Point and Cape May Clam Bake (all dinners).

First of all, check the offical website for park hours because they changed June(we are going 6/22/-6/26). I have been in June 2x and would recommend Fantasmci pkge. or plan to arrive 60 min. before to get seating. We ate at Mama Melrose and Brown Derby and enjoyed both, but BD is a bit expensive. Seating with the package is good and we got there 20 minutes before and were in the 10th row in the reserved Witch section. It's an amazing show. You can check the menus at wdwig.com, but both are good choices.

I also think the package is worth it. We ate at both the Brown Derby and Mama Melrose and didn't like either, so I guess next time it will be Hollywood and Vine. Of the two we tried, I think Mama Melrose was better, definitely more reasonably priced for what you got. I don't think MGM has any really good eating places, although I haven't tried any of the counter services. It's kind of a "best of the worst" for us, but definitely worth the package.

We like Mama Melrose. Been there twice. Service and food was good both times at lunch and dinner. Very comfortable, casual atmosphere.

Your other selections for dinners sound good. Sounds like you're staying at WL?? AP is my favorite restaurant on Disney property. It is pricey but very good. WCC is just fun. CM is the best place for character interaction. The food has been hit or miss, once good and once not too good. And Cape May is also pretty good. You should enjoy all of your choices, have fun!!

I would certainly check the official web site, just to make sure that the hours you have been quoted are correct. We usually eat at the Hollywood Brown Derby before Fantasmic, I can't comment on the FDP because I haven't done it, don't like being restricted to a set menu.

Hope you have a great time!!

We did the Fantasmic! Dinner Package on May 12 at Mama Melrose. We loved it. Had the salmon - thought it was just as good as Artist Point salmon! Also, the salad that comes out is excellent. Pizza appetizer was tasty too. DD were happy with pizza and cheeseburger from kids menu. Kids had ice cream for dessert. DH and I had tiramisu. Yum. We have previously dined at the Brown Derby and found MM to be on par with BD. Check out the menus and see what appeals to you. I am really glad we did the package and feel it was worth it for our family. We would have dined at a sit down restaurant and it was real nice not having to go stand in line over an hour before show time.

Have a great time!

We have eaten at MM a few times and liked it. Last trip we chose Hollywood & Vine based on price, MM was getting a bit pricey for the family .

I would have to say that MM is better, but HV was fine. The kids 10 & 6 liked the food and DW and I found plenty to eat. The food was hot and tasty, not gourmet but over all good food at a fair price (for Disney) . Either way I think you will do fine
