Hi all!

I am trying to fly my husband to Disney World for a surprise weekend getaway in March. He is a med student and hasn't had a break in 3 years--so he really needs this break. However, I'm having a lot of trouble finding airfare that is reasonable. I'm willing to pay about $450 roundtrip for both of us, which I think is fair, but I can only find $600-$1000 fares. I hear about people getting these cheap fares all the time, so I apparently just don't have the magic touch. Can anyone give me any tips? Here are the cities I can fly from: Huntington, WV, Charleston, WV or Columbus, OH.

Thanks in advance!

what are your dates - I live in Cincinnati and would never pay more than $250 a person especially out of Columbus - I am seeing fares aournd that for that time frame!! Which airport do you most prefer?

I just did a quote on Soutwest for march 8 - March 13 and got a fare of $468.60 roundtrip for two people. That's pretty close to your $450 limit.

March can be tough, a lot of people are on spring break and flights can be hard to get if you don't book WAY early. If you can avoid flying on a Saturday and Sunday, it will go a long way to getting the fares down. Give me some dates and I'll be happy to do a quick search!

I just found this out of Columbus for $253

Keep an eye on the Southwest fares for Columbus -> Orlando. Right now they are right at your pricerange, but if a sale comes us you might be able to get it a few bucks cheaper (my guess is $99 each way/person + tax will be available sometime).

I guess I probably should have included my dates, huh? Sorry about that. This could be really confusing to explain so here goes... I want to fly out either Friday the 24th (preferred) or Saturday the 25th. If I fly out of Columbus on Friday it will have to be an evening flight (around 5pm) because I live three hours from the airport--otherwise I will have to fly out on Saturday morning (which I don't really want to do because that wastes the entire day). I live in Huntington, WV and Southwest doesn't service my area. I can also use the Charleston, WV airport which gives me a little more of an option. I HAVE to return home on Monday the 27th (also preferrably in the afternoon or evening) because I teach class the following Tuesday morning. (I told you this would be confusing). So here's the breakdown--I would like to fly in the evening on Friday the 24th and return in the eveing on Monday the 27th. Thanks for all your responses!!!
