I'm in beginning stages of booking our vacation extravaganza for March break. I want to do a 7 night cruise (planning for Feb 27 itinerary out of Port Canaveral, Florida and then a week at Disney World (not sure if staying on site or Bonnet Creek)

I need help with logistics. We will be flying in from Canada. Where do I fly into? Port Canaveral or Orlando? How do I get from one place to the other? We will probably need to rent a car after getting off the cruise and drive to Orlando? Then drive back to leave?

Anyone who's done a back to back cruise and Disney world tell me the easiest way to do this?

Fly to Orlando MCO many flights go there re WDW and there isn't an airport for flights at PC.

As transport options there are DCL Coaches $ 35 pp per trip. Either airport to and from port or WDW resort to and from port.

Private transfers and car rental are options and can be cheaper for a family.

The MCO coach service is a rolling service and WDW to port has set pick up times.

I have done the Fantasy back to back, rule one try to keep the same room both cruises then you do not need to pack and unpack in the middle. You have to get off at 9 am end of cruise on go through border control back up into the terminal wait for the new cruise to be turned on the system check in and we were back on at 10.15am.

Tips and stateroom accounts are finalised St the end of both cruises and also you cankeep the serving team it ask for a change second cruise.

It's always a good idea to fly in a day before your cruise, just in case there's flight delays. You can stay at a hotel near the airport, then catch DCL transportation to the ship, or hire a private car service (check out Happy Limo online) or rent a car to drive to the port. You can park at the port, but parking is expensive so it will probably be cheaper to drop off the car and catch the rental car agency's shuttle to the ship.

After your cruise, again you can choose DCL transportation, car service, or rental car to get to WDW. if you stay on site you really don't need a car, unless you absolutely hate WDW buses. After your stay at WDW you can catch Disney's free Magical Express bus from the hotel to the airport.

That sounds like a wonderful time you are planning!
This is what we did…
flew into MCO. took Mears Transportation (large SUV) to Four Seasons WDW (amazing resort- on property -though without some of the Disney perks though there is a Disney desk in the lobby- they got us fast passes that we were not able to get ourselves… awesome!. resort was truly lovely). Enjoyed the resort, took their free bus transportation back and forth to WDW, then at the end of the week took Mears to the port. Mears took us back at the end of the cruise as we stayed a few nights longer after the cruise… as to not end vacation! :)

it worked for us in that we flew in, got to go the park mid week (slower) as well as get to relax at the resort and get some much needed rest before we went to the cruise. Mears was cost effective for our family as we have car seat aged little ones. The drivers were extremely professional and they allowed us to pick all of our pick up and drop off times. If you stay on property at WDW you could use the Magical Express free transportation from MCO to the hotels.

Have a fabulous vacation!!!

We are flying into MCO, staying in the Hyatt at the airport the night before our cruise. (We have also stayed at AS Sports before). Then we take DCL transport bus to Port Canaveral ($35 per person, each way). If you decide to stay on WDW property, you can take DCL transport but from PC to your WDW resort (again $35 per person). After your week at WDW, you can take DME from WDW resort to the airport (free). We don't like to drive on vacation. We love Disney transportation.

We also used DCL transportation from the port to WDW. We flew in the day before the cruise and stayed at the Hyatt in the Orlando airport. It was very easy. The next day, we took the DCL bus to the port. After the cruise, we caught the DCL bus to our resort (Art of Animation) with no problems. We have always found DCL transportation to be efficient and hassle free. Have fun!
