We are heading to Disney in February and planned to tell the kids on Christmas. When I planned this a few months ago, I had great ideas. Then life got in the way and I got busy and have done nothing!
4 kids, 15,14,12 and 10. Have been to Disney a few times, last trip in 2010. If I tried something like a scavenger hunt, they would know immediately. They know I'm always hoping to be able to plan a Dis trip and that I love big surprises. I was thinking if the balloons in a box addressed to the family and having it on the front porch so that when my sister arrived she could bring it in the house. The kids would just think that we missed it on the porch, probably a gift from grandpa. My concern with this is that it would bean leaving it outside in the cold overnight and then the balloons wouldn't rise out of the box!
Any other easy, cheap, last minute ideas?

Check with some Travel Agents and see if they have any Disney World park maps. I bring them back for my TA.

Dollar Store usually has Disney items. You could get them all something for the trip. Journals for the kids to write down what they did on the trip. Photo Albums, glow sticks, etc.

How about wrapping up a small box and putting a note inside saying the present is too big to fit under the tree and then send them somewhere warmer (garage, pantry, etc.) to have the balloons.
