Feasible! I meant feasible! The darn thing won't let me correct my spelling error in the title! Sorry all. You have no idea how much it hurts to see a word misspelled by an English teacher!

Anyway....
My DH and I were considering a trip in June to Orlando to do Universal and IOA, and maybe Sea World and Busch Gardens. We did Disney last year with friends. Then tonight DH said, "I'm afraid I'll be really disappointed with Universal." He really likes WDW, particularly Epcot. He actually said, "Are you tired of Disney?" (No!) and said I could PICK where we went! So, my thoughts are:
Instead of our standard 7 days in FL, we could go for 10 or 11. I'm hoping the condo we rented last year will give us a deal for a longer stay. It only costs about $50 more to add the days to a rental car. So we could do Universal/IOA for the first couple of days and then do Disney.

My thing is, will this be too much to do in 10-11 days? Undercover Tourist has 6 day WDW hoppers for around $250-the same price as 4 and 5 day hoppers- and Universal has the $85 deal. That gives us 8 days busy, provided we use all 6 WDW days. The other advantage is that I'm getting out of school for summer earlier than ever before, so we would miss some of the crowds at Universal by going there first, since we won't have the Express/FOTL priveleges.

Thoughts? Comments?

I would plan on a few days of non-park activities, like relaxing at the pool, shopping, something else. Crowds, heat, walking through parks for that many days is a lot. Also, you might get a few rain days... just something to plan for kind of if you can.

We are going in June and doing each park twice, 3 days at the Water Parks, 2 days Universal and then heading out July 4 week for a Disney Cruise.
We have the Water Parks thrown in every few days and Universal in the middle.
Do as much as you can, and stay as long as you can!

Our plans are becoming more solid. We're looking at June 14-25, 12 days. We try to fly out of Portsmouth, NH on Allegiant, and right now they're only flying Mondays and Thursdays. Dates aren't up for June yet, so I'm going to call them tomorrow to get a time when the fares will be posted. (Several other airports that Allegiant services have their June dates already.) DH just mentioned a possible itinerary:
Arrive Thurs. June 14th.
Go to Tampa 15th for Busch Gardens
16th Sea World? (will probably stay only a few hours if we go)
17-19 Universal/IOA
20-24 WDW
25th come home.

I know it's a full schedule, but we won't be "Park Commandos" at Disney this year. We'll do our favorites and I insist on seeing some shows! We might be able to get free Busch Gardens/Sea World passes because one of my in-laws works for Anheiser-Busch. We might skip Sea World if we don't get a free pass. I'm also thinking that right now we don't have kids, I'll have the time off, and DH is in a position to take the time from work. He has his own business so we have to plan pretty far ahead so his clients know he'll be away.

Hey fellow Mainer!

We had, I think, 11 days last year. We spent 7 at WDW, and 3 at Universal. We love Universal, although it is a different experience than WDW. You do not have the nostalgia, the characters, the "warm fuzzies", etc. The Universal experience more of a "do it yourself" one, if that makes sense. but the rides, food, and cleanliness, I would easily place ona par with Diseny parks.

One thing we are trying NOT to do this year is hit the parks at opening every day like last year. We are staying at Windsor Hills, the pool and facilities of which we hope will entice us to "stay put" at the resort. We are planning one "at home" day for each park day.

I don't know about you, but these frigid temps are killing us! It takes 20 minutes to get both kids in their many layers of clothing!

Hello Mainbound,
How cold is it where you are? Do you guys have any snow? Its cold here, but I am sure its not as bad as it is for you all.
Stay warm!

No new snow for a couple weeks -- about 8 inches old cover right now. It is 16 degrees, "feels like" 10 degrees. Lows tonight of -11 degrees, and it has been like this for weeks! A Florida villa really would be "paradise" right now! :cloud9:

Here in Chicago we've had like -10 to -30 below windchills for the past 2 weeks...brr....I'm a huge skiier and we went yesterday, took the Cub Scout pack, but it was the coldest I've been skiing in a while and that's with all of the right gear on even!

Today we get a "break" from the frigid temps since we got 2-4" of new snow last night...so it's warmer...and there's apparently 4-8" more coming tonight / tomorrow... can't wait to go back to Florida! Brrr...

Signed,
- Frozen in Chicago

:cold: :cold: :cold: :cold:

We're supposed to get a HUGE storm on Wednesday. It's been very cold here...nights -15, days a high of 10. Lots of wind, so it feels colder. I'm dreaming of a FL vacation!

I think part of that storm may hit us, but I don't think we are going to get much snow. They are now saying Sleet and freezing rain. That makes for fun Driving! I hope you guys don't get too much snow! Stay as warm as possible!
