Need input from disers on a vitamix

Hey all. I was wondering about the good and the bad on a vitamix machine? They are on qvc this morning and look amazing! Just wanted to here from you guys before I order if it really works and how well u like it. Thanks for an info

I was thinking today of posting to see if anyone else had a vitamix!

We have one - the one from QVC actually. I love it. I have used it mostly for smoothies, but wow. Today I made a strawberry, blueberry, banana smoothie with 2% milk, Vanilla Honey Greek yoghurt and ice. It was amazing. And I know everything that went in! I have used it to make a lot of mango or nectarine/peach smoothies or even pineapple. Amazing!

I have not got much past the smoothies as of yet - but it came with a huge cookbook that has some great ideas.

One thing to keep in mind is that with it the faster speeds are not always the best. I can really puree things, but sometimes you can go so fast that it actually becomes ineffective. That took me a bit to realize. So now I always start slow, and turn up the speed a little at a time, if it seems to be too much I will back it down a little. Overall, I love it and am very glad to have it. We all eat a lot more fruit now .

I have a Vitamix. Mom had one when I was a teen-ager.

They're great. Hot [Mom used to make a killer pea soup]. Cold [Ice cream - yum]. Blend. Multi-speed.
Got ours to puree or liquify food for DS.
