Hello, we are looking to vacation next Jan. 21, 2006 to Jan. 29, 2006. We usually stay at the value resorts but was interested in finding out more info about renting points to stay at the boardwalk or beach club. If anyone can let me know how this all works, thanks!

For that time frame, you would be looking at the following pts requirements:
BCV (or VWL):
Studio - 126 pts
1BR - 245 pts
2BR - 330 pts

BWV Pref View:
Studio - 126 pts
1BR - 245 pts
2BR - 330 pts
GV - 652 pts

BWV Std View:
Studio - 105 pts
1BR - 203 pts
2BR - 273 pts

OKW and SSR are a little cheaper on pts required. Usually you'd be looking at price per point to rent at $10-12. Also, points for Friday and Saturday nights are pretty high, so if you were to push the trip back 1 day to checkin on Sunday 1/22 you would drop about 20+ points.

As for how it works, it depends on the terms of the member renting the points. You'd have to find someone who has points available and willing to rent. There's a lot of trust required between both the renter and the DVC member. You'd likely have to submit a deposit (10%-100%) and the member would book the reservation in your name.
