I'm new at this. How does one get on a waitlist for a 2 BR at BCV? What are the chances of getting a 2 BR there Nov. 11-15? Does it usually work out? Would love to hear from those of you who have done this. We would be renting points. Any advice??

That time is pretty popular at BCV (and BWV for that matter) because the Food & Wine Fest will be going on at Epcot. The ability to just walk in to the festival makes those 2 resorts, in particular, much sought after. You are already inside the 7 month window for those dates so it may be quite full. It's not impossible, however.

You can't get on a waitlist yourself. What you need to do is go to the Rent/Trade Board and ask for a member who would check for availability and then rent to you or be willing to get on a waitlist for you and rent the points if the waitlist comes through.

If it were me, I would make a reservation elsewhere just in case. I would do it through the same member, if possible, as most members would not be too happy making you a backup reservation that might be cancelled if your waitlist comes through. They stand to be in a hassle or, at worst, lose points. If it's the same member, they can just switch the points to the new reservation.

Thanks! If anyone can help, PLEASE let us know. We are meeting good friends there and want to stay at the same resort!

I think this will be VERY tough to do renting points. There would just be too much risk for the member who is renting them out.

Here is my experience with a waitlist during this time of year last year. This was of course with our own points for our own trip, but it shows the waitlist can work this time of year.

Last year in Mid August, we had a change in plans. My brothers family was joining us for part of our Mid/Late October trip during the Food and Wine Fest, so we now needed a 2 bedroom instead of our 1 bedroom that we had reserved. Luckily all but 1 of our days were available at OKW, so we waitlisted the last day. At the same time we waitlisted 4 days at BCV in every type of 2 bedroom available day by day (check in was the first day of Food and Wine Fest). My brother had just purchased BCV last year and really wanted to try it out, so we went for it. The OKW day came available the next day, so we had our reservation for somewhere. Then 2 weeks later we got our first call about our BCV waitlist. One of our days was available. The next day 2 more were available, but there was a problem. We had one day in one type of 2 bedroom another day in another type, and then a day unavailable followed by the 4th day in a 2 bedroom. 2 days later I got another call. This time we were able to complete our reservation all in a dedicated 2 bedroom w/2 queens! I was so surprised how quickly it came together, and so was the CM calling me to confirm. I happened to get the same guy for all 3 calls :)

I just wanted to let you know there is plenty of hope! We waitlisted only 2 months prior to that trip during the first few days of the food and wine fest (plus MNSSHP was going on too) knowing that that location would be a tough one to get. It all came together! I think you have a great shot at it! If you can stand it, the day by day waitlist will work much faster than the whole trip at once. I think more cancellations happen the last 31-90 days before the trip dates, so be patient. Best of luck to you!
