Need Info on Phila. Area Around PHL!!

We've got a choice of Friday afternoon flights from PHL of either 5:35 or 7:50 pm. Our concern is getting there in enough time considering increased security. We're driving from NE Pa on the Turnpike. How should traffic be on the approach to PHL about 3:30 pm on a Friday afternoon and how much before a 5:35 takeoff should we be there?

I would do the 5:35--get to the airport by 3:00. Friday is a BIG business traveler day. The later flight will only be worse. Security is tough, especially on Fridays and Mondays. Hope this helps.

Oh and how do I know this--just this year my hubby earned 300,000 frequent flyer miles and holds chairmens level on both usair and american

Bill we had a 5:35 flight on a Fri to MCO and they just called and it's changed to 5:50pm FYI

We live in NJ and plan on being there by 3:30.
