Here's the deal. I had a horrid experience flying SWA back from Orlando a few weeks ago! So bad DH wrote to the company and they are looking into it. Anyhow we are flying out Dec. 25 and we can go to PVD (our favorite), Hartford, or Boston. Boston has Jetblue and Hartford has SONG. Does anyone fly out of Boston? If so, do you park in Westboro or Framingham and take a shuttle in? DH is really apprehensive about flying out of Boston and frankly it scares me too. Can anyone offer alternatives, thoughts, etc. please? There will 7 of us, DH & I and 5 kids 16 and under. Thanks so much in advance. :sunny:

I live in SE MA and will go to either PVD or Logan. In May I am flying out of Logan on Song, only $155 RT! I will take the Logan Express from Braintree. I have done this quite a bit and it is great. Never had a problem. You can go to www.massport.com for info on the Logan Express shuttles from other areas. SWA is the only non-stop out of PVD for now, so I like Logan.

Safetymom, I am 45 mins from PVD, about an hour to both Hartford and Boston. Logan just scares me, it is so big and with the 5 kids etc.etc.etc. :sunny:

If you fly Song it won't be bad. Delta is opening their brand new terminal, A, on March 16. It will house Delta, Song and ComAir. It looks beautiful. I don't think you will have a problem flying out of Logan. I would take a car service if I were you, rather than deal with The Logan Express with that big a family.

KerryCM, what is a car service? Do you mean limo service or something to that sort? When I looked up Logan and where to park for free, Westboro being closest, it looked like you could book the shuttle. Is there a chance they will overbook? Thanks for your help.

Call some area limo services to see what it would cost for you to use them. I am not familiar with the shuttle service from Westboro. If they have free parking that is awesome. The Logan Express you need to pay for the parking. Anothe option may be spending the night before at the Holiday Inn at Logan and leaving your car there. I tink that is what we will be doing. I got a rate of $99 and that includes parking, room and free shuttle service to the terminal. I still think you may be better off with a car service. Let me know how you make out.

I'm in Westborough and the only 'shuttle' I'm familier with would be the Knight's service that will pick you up at some of the Rt. 9 hotels, like the Wyndham. You can leave your car there I guess and take the service in to Logan. But, I have to tell you...we have done this twice now and it really isn't all that great. We have been picked up at our house and then stopped at the hotel. You could take the bus shuttle from Framingham but the only problem with that is if you are coming back on a late flight. I think they stop running buses around midnight and you could get stuck.

We like to drive into Logan if we can park easily. During the snowy months that's an issue for us. No way do we want to scrape off our car when we get home from Florida. But, during those warmer months we have used the Economy lots and they have been fine and only about $95 for a week. Now that Delta is opening the new terminal that should make life a lot easier. And with the Ted Williams Tunnel open and emptying right at Logan, it only takes us 40 minutes to get there from Westborough!!! It takes us an hour, door to terminal to get to TFG and 40-45 minutes to get to Logan now. And we love Song, so it's a no-brainer for us!

I normally fly out of both Logan and Green. I normally use a Limo service and get a Town Car. I use Magic Carpet out of Mansfield and have never had a problem. It beats driving (and I drive to Boston every day). I'm in Carver, but I would imagine that they will pickup in Westboro, it's not much further away than Carver, in fact I think it's closer.

I pay 95.00 rt to either Logan or Green. They have their rate posted online at
this page http://www.magiccarpetlimo.com/mc_air_rate.htm

From Westboro a TC is 85.00 to Logan and 125.00 to Green. For a lengthy trip, It's cheaper than driving and parking.

We flew from Logan to Orlando on December 27th. Because we were taking the 8:30 AM Song flight we stayed at the Hampton Inn in Revere on a park and fly the night before our flight. They are 10 minutes from the airport and run a 24 hour shuttle to and from the airport. It's a good thing we came up from the Cape the night before because Boston had a snowstorm that night and we never would have made it to Logan for our flight. Since you are also flying in December you might want to think about a park and fly. It sure was nice being only 10 minutes away from the airport when there was a foot of snow on the ground!

We have used Logan Park & Go a couple of times now and love it. We are planning to use them again next month. They are actually in Chelsea, very good directions on their website, less than 10 min. to the airport. When you pull in, they watch for you to park, and pull up with the shuttle van within a minute or so.They drop you off at the doors of your terminal, very easy. Being that the OP is traveling at a holiday, I think the Economy lot at Logan is not an option. We also prefer PVD, but go with wherever is the best deal.
