Hope no-one minds but i just need a little info about moving my waste pipe. Do i need planning permission or building regulations checked?.

I'm moving my WC into the bathroom, which means it is basically moving about 3 metres sideways on the ground floor. Have tried the local council website but keep hitting a brick wall on this subject.

Any help will be greatly appreciated

I don't know if this will help, but a few years ago we moved the inspection chamber as it would have been under an extension - NOT a good idea! We had to have permission and a visit from the building inspector both before and during the move.

If it involves any sort of moving underground drains then that is automatically an issue you have to have building control in on. But i would advise on no other action apart from calling the council on this. Advise hem wheher you are moving anything to do with drains etc. I have recently finished a big extension to the back of the house i am selling and they were very very strict with the drains. Ask for building control or building regs department. They know their stuff.
